Job Description

Bus DriverPart Time- (CDL REQUIRED)

The incumbent performs job responsibilities without posing a significant risk of substantial harm to the health or safety of him/her or others while maintaining compliance with all policies and procedures of Christian Care Communities and within the parameters of the Organization’s mission, vision, and values.

  1. Ensures that the vehicle is clean and in proper working condition at all times
  2. Determines and follows safe and efficient driving routes
  3. Maintains all transportation records required by the program
  4. Regularly conduct vehicle evacuation drills
  5. Evacuates passengers according to written and practiced procedures.
  6. Assures that medical emergency procedures are followed in case of emergency or accident; completes a written accident report as required
  7. Attends and participates in center pre-service and in-service trainings, and other continuing education, career and professional development opportunities.
  8. Operates the vehicle in such a way that road and safety regulations are always followed; reports any traffic violations to the Director immediately.
  9. Completes a comprehensive written inspection of the vehicle daily, reporting any conditions of concern to the Director, or delegated staff person, before transporting participants.
  10. Ensures that the communication device (e.g. two-way radio, cellular phone) is in proper working order before each trip.
  11. Ensures that the vehicle always has sufficient fuel.

Qualifications

Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Required Experience: 2 years’ experience as driver of shuttle van or bus and working with older adults or in a long-term health care setting

Required Certification or Licensures: Must have current CPR certification. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) License Class B with passenger endorsement
