Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Consultant for a contract position with our client in a Minneapolis, MN suburb or Denver, CO. Work may be remote to start. Summary: This position will be responsible for the strategic management of the largest and/or most complex key cyber security initiatives by identifying security risk management and compliance solutions driven by business needs for significant business critical applications, infrastructure, and services. Responsibilities: - Protect the company against risks of data loss and vulnerability management as well as drive initiatives to ensure compliance with requirements from agencies such as FERC, NERC, and Department of Homeland Security (such as CIP, HIPAA, SOX, PCI).
- Manage security risks and threats by collaborating with other business units, utilities, governmental agencies, and security related communities to share information.
- Apply expert level business and technical acumen while defining security and compliance solutions that deliver best practices for building and monitoring controls for information protection and threat management.
- Utilize security framework (security standards such as NISTIR 7628, ISA 62443-3-3, and NIST 800-53) to test pertinent security requirements.
- Work independently and with security architects, business users, and developers to create and execute security test plans.
- Propose and design security tests for security requirements. Provide oversight and strategy for end-to-end security testing.
- Analyze and document testing deficiencies.
- Track and report security test results.
Qualifications: - Minimum 3 years work experience in test development, design, and execution for a complex integrated enterprise solution with an emphasis on security.
- Demonstrated ability to influence others and adapt to change quickly.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Awareness of project planning and business need justification process and methodology.
- Utility, defense, telecommunications, or aircraft/space testing experience.
- Understanding of cyber security disciplines such as vulnerability management, identity and access management, information risk management, encryption, logging/monitoring, networking architecture and security operations
- Has understanding of and ability to apply cyber security frameworks such as NISTIR 7628, ISA 62443-3-3, NIST 800-53, and/or OT equivalent.
- Understand, negotiate, and communicate complex security test requirements in a timely, concise, and objective manner.
- Some travel will be required.
