Role: Financial Analyst Location: Columbia, MD (initially remote) Apex Systems is assisting a large Financial Client to identify a motivated Financial Analyst to join their team in Columbia, MD. This Fortune 500 Company is hiring an individual that shows aptitude to learn & the want to grow within the company. The position is a 3-6 month contract, with the opportunity to convert full time. The successful candidate must be savvy with Excel, have a strong analytical background, and have the ability to learn quickly and take initiative. Background and experience needed:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Financial Data Analysis role, preferably within mortgage back securities
  • Bachelor's Degree in:
    • Business
    • Finance
    • Statistics/Math
    • Economics
    • Or similar field
  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience
  • 2+ years of professional work environment experience
  • Ability to work in a performance and deadline driven environment
  • SQL/Python skills nice to have but not required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
  • Finance Analysts are responsible for data entry, data management, accounting and analyses of pooled data from various servicers. Database systems, mostly Excel, are used regularly to ensure any variance in data is identified and corrected. Candidates need to have at least an intermediate understanding of Excel - ability to create V-Look ups and Pivot Tables. Candidates should expect to work overtime during certain parts of each month
