The Leidos Innovation Center currently has an exciting openings for a Software Engineer to work in our Beavercreek, Ohio office.The Software Engineer will conduct research and development in the areas of modeling/simulation in the infrared sensor and countermeasure domains. Addressing our customers' challenging mission requirements necessitates research and development of new capabilities as well as making improvements to existing systems. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to quickly develop an understanding of legacy efforts, analyze simulation outputs and engineer improvements to meet new requirements. Additionally, the software engineer will be called upon to develop new and innovative solutions to challenging problems, helping our customers provide top notch solutions for the Warfighter. The successful candidate will work as part of integrated team of engineers and analysts.Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform digital model development activities
  • Collect and analyze data in support of digital model development
  • Collect and analyze data in support of infrared countermeasure technique development
  • Work with the engineering team to develop and/or integrate software components for the MOSAIC infrared countermeasure analysis application
  • Conduct unit testing to ensure all unit level requirements are satisfied
  • Participate in all levels of testing and validation as well as the test and build process to ensure that developed/integrated software components function and interoperate as required within and between systems
  • Develop presentations and participate in working groups as needed
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field
  • Position requires US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • Basic understanding of electro-optics and physics
  • Knowledge of and experience with object-oriented programming in C/C
  • Knowledge of and experienced with MATLAB, Simulink
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to collaborate with a team of engineers and scientists
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Secret clearance or higher
  • Experience with/interest in electro-optical and infrared systems particularly infrared guided missile technology
  • Experience working in multi/cross-domain security environments
  • Experience working in secure networks
