Manager of Infrastructure Engineering to join our team in Muscatine, IA! In this position, you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the infrastructure systems to meet the required SLA's for both the enterprise and business partners and should have a thorough knowledge of infrastructure technologies, service design and mapping, capacity management, service/vendor management concepts, technology cost/budget management, program/project management and operational performance metrics. This position will require the use of a diverse set of technical skills needed to organize resources around the execution of business objectives in a highly dynamic environment. You will provide technical leadership and consulting and should keep abreast of the latest infrastructure technologies and technological opportunities in order to maintain a business competitive advantage.

What you will do:
  • Provide overall global technical guidance and leadership in projects involving a variety of infrastructure technologies (e.g. cloud, storage, compute, network, etc.).
  • Educate, consult and influence IT and business stakeholders to better understand existing infrastructure architecture risks, IT best practices, and infrastructure changes required to support business and IT strategies.
  • Coordinate all infrastructure operational activities, processes and resources.
  • Perform management tasks as required including team building, training, mentoring, coaching, performance reviews, disciplinary actions and any other related activities.
  • Review and assess infrastructure solutions for specific challenges or risks and guide business enabling IT investment.
  • Develop, document, make recommendations and communicate plans for investing in IT infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
  • Develop strategic and tactical plans as well as oversee implementation of global infrastructure architecture framework and standards for supporting proper life cycle management practices.
  • Document and develop in-depth knowledge of the organization's existing global infrastructure architecture environment to establish enterprise infrastructure baselines.
  • Professionally represent the infrastructure team as a technical consultant on projects.
  • Drive re-use and enterprise-wide thinking within initiatives and projects.
  • Directs the continuing review of systems and methods as well as the formulation of new and revised systems; determines appropriate changes to effect improvements, reduce costs, and enhance efficiencies.
  • Provide rationale for infrastructure architecture and design decisions.
  • Directs the team in the overall technical direction and ensures that all team members are in alignment with both departmental and business goals.
  • Responsible for keeping server and storage infrastructure and operating system up to date, are patched according to cyber security guidelines and in a vendor supported state.
  • Establishes, manages and approves configuration and change management policies to mitigate MTTF (Mean Time to Failure) for systems and applications in accordance to ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library).
  • Research and stay current of changes and the latest industry best practices and strategies regarding IT infrastructure and related services (e.g. cloud computing, IaaS, PaaS, managed services, storage, etc.).
  • Develop and present business cases and infrastructure architecture migration plans to management.
  • Assist with the assessment, planning and implementing systems and integrations related to M&A activities.
  • Planning and oversight of capital and operating budgets.
  • Maintain project activities while leading infrastructure hardware and software implementation projects.
  • Participate in other special projects and technology initiatives as required.

What it takes:
  • 4-year degree in engineering, IT or related field and/or equivalent technical experience, plus at least 10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ITIL certification preferred.
  • Program/project management certification strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in information technology focusing in domain specific technologies with 3 years of hands-on experience in providing strategic and architectural guidance to large scale IT projects
  • 3+ years program/project management experience
  • Comprehensive working knowledge and experience with ITIL principles and processes
  • 5+ years of experience with infrastructure architecture
  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing technical teams
