Job Summary/Company:A Sparks Group partner is seeking a Sr. Mobile Device Security Engineer (SMDE) to join their team as an in-house security engineering advanced resource. The SMDE is involved in leading/performing hacking efforts via offensive attack simulation, performing and improving targeted mobile devise security assurance engineering testing, and conducting specific threat intelligence on product security technology including hacking trends and information for the company's wireless and non-wireless products. This is a Hybrid, Direct Hire position in South Florida; selected candidate will need to go into the office to pick up handset devices. However, if the candidate stands out based on skill sets and experience, they will consider making it a fully remote position. Responsibilities:
  • Create threat models for mapping and evaluating the threat surface on wireless products and services across handset manufacturers and chipset platforms
  • Develop/maintain security threat profiles for products across vendors
  • Conduct targeted security testing and analysis to determine the efficacy of security controls and propose actional mitigation recommendations for wireless products and services
  • Conduct and support targeted threat intelligence activities including research efforts focused on strengthening the security profile of wireless products and services with actional recommendations
  • Conduct, review, and support technical security engineering analysis based on established threat models of root cause and proposed mitigations from vendors for issues during development, testing, hacking, and research
  • Conduct analysis of products, services, and attacker tools to identify indicators of compromise and reverse engineer attacker protocols
  • Conduct/support targeted offensive hacking related attack simulations as guided and needed considering threat models and threat intelligence
  • Review/assist in specific engagements from security research firms on company's wireless products and services
  • Assist internal mobile devise security teams with mapping, developing, evaluating, and validating their product device security profile
  • Create detailed and actionable mobile device security engineering reports as well as threat intelligence reports
  • Assist internal mobile device security teams with development of security requirements, risk assessments, and assurance test plans
  • Support internal Pre-Lab team during face to face meetings and calls around critical product milestones with handset manufacturers/OEMs
  • Perform and support training related to team capabilities regarding assurance based and offensive based testing of wireless products and services

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience in the following:
    • Embedded/Mobile devise security engineering
    • Mobile platform threat intelligence
    • Threat modeling
    • Offensive attack simulations
    • Ability to revere engineer and analyze packed and obfuscated code
    • Android and Linux operating systems
  • Deep knowledge of Android O/S
  • Deep knowledge of Linux platform
