Do you crave learning new things?Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, code, and implement next-generation software factory using software engineering best practices and the latest technologies:
    • DevOps (Jenkins, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, SonarQube, Argo CD)
    • Object oriented design & programming, abstractions, separation of concerns, modularity/re-usability, clean code, documentation, and so forth
  • Provide engineering contributions in one or more of these areas: software development, Mobile development, Microservice architecture, container orchestration, security, auto-scaling & application reliability engineering, and monitoring & application performance.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with a small tightly-knit high performing team of Leidos engineers and customer technical leads
  • Investigate and repair application defects regardless of component: front-end, business logic, middleware, CI/CD pipeline, or database (PL/SQL and Data Modeling).
  • Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written and oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience
  • All other duties as assigned or directed

  • Excellent communication, and written skills.
  • Experience in communicating and presenting technical solutions to teammates and management, especially using telework tools.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving in a technical space
  • Modern software development experience (e.g. Go-Lang, Python, C# with .Net Core, or Java EE with SpringBoot) with a solid understanding of building, deploying, and running applications
  • Basic Linux/Unix
  • Basic Networking
  • Basic understanding of Docker Containers
Desired Skills
  • An in-depth knowledge of Social Security Administration (SSA)
  • Preferred experience with version control (Git)
  • Comfortable with pointers/references, fundamental algorithms, data structures, and basic experience with functional programming
  • Front-end Development / UX (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REACT, Angular, Node)
  • Experience with automated unit testing, TDD, BDD, and associated technologies (Junit, pytest, Mockito, Cucumber, Selenium, Karma/Jasmine)
  • Container orchestration using Openshift/Kubernetes
  • Experience developing CI/CD solutions (Jenkins, ArgoCD or Harness.io)
  • Preferred experience with AWS cloud technologies or other cloud platforms
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
    • Master's or Doctorate's degree may substitute for required experience
    • 2+ years of experience of modern software development experience with a solid understanding of building, deploying, and running applications
  • Experience in an Agile development team, preferably Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
