Software Engineer If interested in this role, please reach out to Joe Blamer at jblamer@apexsystems.com and reference job ID #1182123.About the team: You will be working with multiple agile scrum teams that are enhancing our payments solutions offerings for partners to improve the competitive position and grow merchant revenue with a direct to SMB Merchant proposition in North America. What you will be doing: In this role, you will be designing and building out the next generation of our RESTful APIs for our financial business partners. You will be working in an agile environment as part of a scrum team. Main duties and responsibilities of the role

  • Participate end to end in the product life cycle: requirements gathering, analysis, solution design, development, code reviews, testing and implementation using Agile methodologies.
  • Participate in peer discussions on architecture and overall direction of RESTful APIs.
  • Work with team members to design solutions that are supported by the architecture of the existing systems.
  • Communicate project status and deliverables between several stakeholders including product managers, project managers and engineers.
  • Review API designs and code from your peers, fix bugs, and troubleshoot operational issues as they occur.
  • Write code and perform testing and debugging of applications using Java and various Spring technologies.
  • Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
  • May deliver informational and decision-seeking presentations to technical and business groups to internal and/or external audiences.
What you bring:
  • 5+ years of experience building web services using Java, Spring, Hibernate, JavaScript.
  • 3+ years of experience building RESTful API's using various Spring Projects, such as Spring Boot, Spring, Spring Data JPA, etc.
  • Experience writing unit and integration test cases using JUnit, Mockito, Spring Cloud Contracts, etc.
  • Extensive RESTful APIs design experience.
  • Experience working collaboratively using Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Should be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
