What does a great Software Developer do? Fiserv, named a World's Most Admired Company for 2021 and for 8 consecutive years, is seeking a rock-star Software Developer to help build the next generation Loan Origination System (LOS). If you have a passion for developing solutions for complex systems while working among the best engineers in Fintech application development and have experience building scalable, reliable, distributed applications.This role, within the Product Engineering team, will focus on microservices, APIs and application development with third-party service integrations within a cloud environment. What you will do:

  • Contribute to the development, testing, maintenance, and integration of Mortgage Director's Loan Origination System (LOS) and other backend applications and solutions.
  • Participate in software development planning, scheduling, and execution of development activities to meet business goals and objectives.
  • Leverage modern development methodologies (Agile/SAFe, Lean, Scrum, Kanban).
  • Gain and use knowledge of various development approaches and best practices to assist with the design of ground-up projects and comprehensive enhancements in the applications.
  • Participate in all aspects of the Agile development process from sprint planning to daily scrum meetings, sprint demos, and team retrospectives.
  • Promote and drive innovation in technologies, processes, and tools.
  • Being a thought leader and mentoring the more junior developers about best practices and current development techniques, though code reviews, meetings, and mentoring efforts.
  • Lead and promote ideas to maintain a continuous-improvement culture within the engineering organization.
  • Assess and communicate risks based on product complexity, resource, and/or timeline constraints.

  • This position will report directly to the Cloud Solution Manager.
Basic Qualifications for Consideration :
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, related technical degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 6-8+ years of software development experience in application development or quality engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience using one modern object-oriented programming languages for application development (Python or Java based languages preferred).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software design patterns, principles, and best practices.
  • Understanding of continuous integration and delivery concepts.
  • Working knowledge and experience with AWS cloud-computing concepts and technologies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in creating technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written collaboration across all levels of engineering and leadership.
Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Experience or demonstrate ability and interest to learn other languages, such as Progress 4GL or Delphi.
  • Understanding of distributed, service-oriented, microservices, and cloud-based application architectures (SaaS).
  • Experience developing for mortgage loan originating systems (LOS).
  • Experience with centralized SCM (e.g. - SVN, CVS) and distributed SCMs (e.g. - Github, BitBucket).
  • Experience with working with automated CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins or CircleCI.
  • Familiar with SQL database architectures, queries, and integrations.
