Position Summary:The Security Analyst position is primarily responsible for actively monitoring security threats and risks involving client infrastructure and end user environment. This includes timely review of security incidents generated by customer security devices and logs, assessment of the situation, and possible escalation to the client. Responsibilities • Monitoring and analyzing logs and alerts from a variety of different technologies (IDS/IPS, Firewall, Proxies, Anti-Virus, etc…), across multiple platforms and varied platforms. • Assessing the security impact of security alerts and traffic anomalies on customer networks. • Creating comprehensive security write-ups which articulate security issues, analysis and remediation techniques. • Analyzing and escalating security incidents to clients and stakeholders both written and verbally. • Responding to technical security questions and concerns from clients. • Possessing a deep understanding of hacker techniques, vulnerabilities, attacks and countermeasures. • Maintaining a strong awareness and understanding of the current threat landscape. • Conducting research on emerging security threats and potential customer impact. • BA/BA degree or equivalent combination of related work experience desired. • Prior security analysis experience is required. • 8570 Compliance • Security Knowledge • Common Attack Methods and motivations • Basic Networking Skills • Understanding Threats/ Vulnerability/ Risks • SIEM experience (ArcSight or Splunk) • Experience with network monitoring • Packet/ log Analysis • Familiarity with common Security Tools • Understanding of common malware types (Crimeware, Ransomware, APT) • Highly Desirable o Cyber Kill Chain Knowledge o Scripting or programming skills o Experience working with cyber intel
