Reporting to the Director of Digital Technology, the Digital Application Project Manager will manage the digital roadmap for Aspen Skiing Company’s new premium retail and experiences brand. The Digital Application Project Manager will represent business and guest interest in defining technology choices for the AspenX brand, leading communications across multi-disciplinary teams in a startup environment.

The Digital Project Manager will have many responsibilities, including but not limited to business analysis, product ownership, and project management. As an integral member of the Digital Team, the Digital Project Manager will gain consensus on project scope, write detailed requirements, negotiate solution design with stakeholders, provide quality assurance for current and ongoing projects, manage internal and external support processes, and provide ongoing support for the business stakeholders related to our guest-facing applications.

The budgeted salary range for this position starts at $74,410. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus

Essential Job Functions Manage guest-facing technology and overall user experience across multiple applications for the brand, acting as Product Owner for all branded applications Guide the conversations around which technology to use for the right outcomes Support eCommerce sales of retail, rental, and experiences by delivering an online experience that is unified, clear, and indicative of the premium quality defining the brand Work with marketing, hospitality, operations (rental, retail, and resort), and technology teams to assemble requirements for both in-shop and online technology, translating those requirements into user stories, then deliver the technology that meets our business needs Collaborate with cross-departmental technology teams on strategically integrating the new brand’s applications to support a wider company roadmap that aims to align hospitality, resort, and marketing technology Gain a deep understanding of the guest and how digital touchpoints influence and shape both out- and in-resort experiences for them. Always seek to cultivate a premium customer experience Define and write requirements based on guest needs, market and technology trends, keeping operational efficiencies in mind but never prioritizing over guest benefit/impact Support design of all new features, putting user experience at the forefront of decision-making, supported by data wherever possible Manage development vendor(s) to build digital experiences including but not limited to a marketing/brand website, mobile app, eCommerce site and other applications Run sprint planning, standups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives for off-site development and design teams, always striving for efficiency and quality output Manage development outcomes to ensure timing and delivery can meet business expectations Work with engineering teams to estimate work, make smart trade-offs, define milestones and deliver outcomes Translate KPIs into actionable plans and deliver features/products that deliver on those metrics Communicate and collaborate with Director of Digital Technology to ensure roadmap alignment with all initiatives and ensure technical feasibility of features

Qualifications

4-7 years working with product development teams required Demonstrated ability to translate complex business problems in clear and concise requirements required Knowledge of Jira or comparable project management tool required Previous experience working for retail brand/company strongly preferred, especially if brand has both brick and mortar and eCommerce presence. High-end retail brands and/or outdoor brands preferred. Past experience leading a team of direct reports strongly preferred Experience in Agile project methodologies strongly preferred Experience working with matrixed teams and vendor partners strongly preferred Experience working in the travel, tourism, leisure, ski resort, or hospitality industries highly preferred Demonstrated ability to translate complex business problems in clear and concise requirements required Experience writing requirements for modern web, mobile, or ecommerce applications required. Experience managing vendors, including development and design firms is highly preferred, OR experience managing internal development teams required Experience with mobile products and mobile development required Experience with enterprise level web content management systems such as Sitecore is highly preferred Training or certifications in Agile project management and/or Scrum highly preferred Experience with enterprise level CRM systems is helpful, but not required

Supervision received. Works under general supervision ofthe Director of Digital Technology. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.
