Altra Federal Credit Union is adding an additional Full Time Mortgage Loan Originator to our Real Estate department at the La Crosse Losey Blvd. office! As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will assist our members with all their home buying or home building financial needs!

Mortgage Loan Originators concentrate on cultivating relationships with local realtors and builders, networking with local businesses, and actively promoting Altra through participation in community events and seminars. Originators embrace industry trends and new technology, streamlining origination processes to continuously improve the member experience.

Additional responsibilities include:

Conducting mortgage loan interviews

Origination of complete and accurate loan applications

Maintaining compliance with all internal and external mortgage lending regulations and policies

Cross-selling Altra productsand services that best meet the members' needs and aspirations, allowing them the financial freedoms and opportunities to live their best lives! Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, GED or HSED. An Associate’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of lending experience is preferred. Some loan origination experience is preferred and experience with originating mortgage loans for sale to the secondary market, constructions loans and FHA / VA loans would be helpful.

Must have a strong understanding of all areas of mortgage lending compliance, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with people effectively. Must be able to maintain confidentiality in all credit union matters, as well having the ability to make second decisions and solve difficult problems effectively. The ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently to meet strict deadlines, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. Working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook email and Office 365), and mortgage lending software programs are required.

This position is full time, 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday between the operating hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and is located at the La Crosse Losey Blvd. office in La Crosse, WI. Some flexibility is required to attend community events; this could include hours on Saturdays and Sundays, and possibly evening hours.

Experience
