Located in the heart of the Redwoods of Northern California, the Benbow Valley is nestled among the hills with the Eel River running through. The most prominent features of this little valley are the Benbow Historic Inn and the Benbow KOA Hoilday and Golf Course .

The Inn is a 65 room historic building with a restaurant and lounge. The Benbow KOA Resort and Golf Course is a 110 site RV park with a 9-hole golf course.

The Benbow Historic Inn is seeking an enthusiastic Bartender to provide an excellent guest experience.

The successful candidate will be able to mix and match ingredients in order to create classic and innovative drinks in accordance with customers' needs and expectations.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The bartender is responsible for interacting with our guests and ensuring they have a great experience when visiting the lounge. Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interactions while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and servers in a friendly and efficient manner. The essential job functions are listed below, but may include duties which are outside of these job functions which are required to meet the need of the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Greet guests, take beverage orders from the restaurant servers or directly from guests.

· Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages as ordered and in compliance with company standards.

· Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol

· Handle an assigned house bank and follow all cash handling procedures.

· Collect payment for drinks served and balance all receipts.

· Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests, prepare inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supplies.

· Serve food items to guests seated at the bar when appropriate.

· Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions.

· Maintain a clean working area by sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of bar area, etc. as needed.

· This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in on and one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

· Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume and distance.

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous bartending experience required.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

· Must have basic computer knowledge.

Alcohol Prevention Training Card

Food Handling certified

· Depth perception (three dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).

· Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

WORK ENVIRONMENT - The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

· This position works in an environment with medium to high noise level.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
