Description Job Description:The Defense Group of Leidos has an opening for a Sr. Systems Architect to work on customer site at Ft. Belvoir, VA.JOB SUMMARY:The Sr. Systems Architect will support the US Army INSCOM IT Support Services program. The ideal candidate will be an expert in architecting the systems across a global enterprise to meet mission system requirements, and in engineering, operations, maintenance and support of core technologies that host business systems including virtual server infrastructure, storage area networking, secure networking and communications, server/network monitoring, and IA security.The Sr. Systems Architect is responsible for entire projects or processes spanning multiple technical areas, and develops solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple area or disciplines. This individual works independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables. They will also interface across multiple teams, with the local Government Customer leadership and functional leads, Leidos site lead, Chief Systems Engineer.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the development of cross functional or large-scale automated information systems to include enterprise architectures
  • Designs system architectures to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements and provides for present and future cross functional requirements and interfaces
  • Provides comprehensive definition of all aspects of system development from analysis of mission needs to verification of system performance
  • Performs evaluation of system alternatives and assessment of risks and costs
  • Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution. Develops solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge.
  • Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies
  • Provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology
  • Develops system architecture and system design documentation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Currently possess an active TS/SCI
  • Bachelor's degree in technology related field and 6+ years of experience in Systems/Network Engineering, or Master's degree with 4+ years of related experience.
  • Currently possess DoD 8570.01M certification at IA Workforce System Architecture and Engineering (IASAE) Level II - Must have one of the following: Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) CE, CISSP, or CSSLP
  • Currently possess Computing Environment Certification such as one or more of the following:
    • Networking such as Cisco CCNP or CCSP
    • Microsoft MCSE or Role-based Microsoft Certified Expert
    • VMware Certified Professional
    • Storage such as NetApp NCDA
  • Deep understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of technical domain and has broad understanding of other related specialty areas.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interface with military officials, managers, and technical teammates. Ability to work to influence team members regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Additional Certifications or training, such as:
    • ITILv3 certification
    • Cisco CCIE
  • Experience working in a NOC, SOC, NOSC, or Data Center
  • Understand all aspects of server lifecycle management (baseline development, provisioning, patch management, configuration management, intra/inter-site backup/recovery and decommissioning)
  • Demonstrated experience working with the following:
    • Security best practices (e.g. DoD STIG & DISA Gold Disk) for network devices and Windows servers
    • Enterprise Ticketing Systems, Inventory Management, Cyber Management tools
    • Cisco ISE for identity services
    • Crypto/COMSEC; and Networking at SCI level
    • Storage: NetApp, HP 3PAR, or other
    • VMware ESXi
    • Supporting large enterprise wide environments (i.e. 250+ servers and 3,000+ users)
    • PowerShell and the ability to write custom scripts for various purposes
  • Demonstrated experience with innovative technologies such as:
    • Cloud, AI/ML, and RPA
    • Software Defined Networks (SDN), SD-WAN, or Network Function Virtualization (NFV)
    • DevSecOps, and CI/CD
