This position is integral to that effort focusing on the Operating System aspects of these products and services. You'll be joining a group of very talented engineers operating in Agile/Scrum/DevOps methodologies. To be successful in this role you will be technically excellent, results oriented and self-directed.#Li-NA1#li-remoteABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES • You will be the team's subject matter expert in the Operating System area.• You will be responsible for the real time performance aspects of the product, including high availability and error recovery. You will quantify the performance through testing and instrumentation. • You will develop code, deliver code and evaluate third party software elements.• You will assist with security audits.• You will have daily interactions with the Scrum Leader, Product Owner and project leadership.• You will be working in a highly self-directed environment where each member is cognizant of their deliverables, customer impact and milestone dates associated with their work.ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS EXPERIENCE:• Proven industry experience in a Software Development role with a focus on Operating Systems, primarily Linux, is required.• Experience coding in Enterprise Java (J2EE, JBoss, Tomcat, Spring, Hibernate, etc.)/C/C/Python and latest front-end development (HTML5, Javascript, RESTFULWeb service) are desired.• Experience coding and scripting in Bash is desired.• Proven problem solving skill is required.SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:• Proficiency with VMware and scripting are desired.• Knowledge of Google Cloud, MS Azure or AWS based Cloud Architecture and migration skills are desired.• Strong understanding across Cloud and infrastructure components (server, storage, network, data, and applications) to deliver end to end Cloud Infrastructure architectures and designs is desired.• Knowledge of container technology (Docker, Kubernetes) is desired.• Knowledge of administration, implementation and upgrades of Linux (RHEL) Server environments is desired.• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team is required.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:• This is a full time position at Avaya's Thornton, Colorado location.• Working remote from the location will be considered for the highly qualified applicant.EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION:• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field.#LI-SA1EXPERIENCE 3 years experience at the Engineer Two level or 5 - 8 years total experienceEDUCATION Bachelor degree or equivalent experienceMaster degree or equivalent experienceFOOTER Avaya is an Equal Opportunity employer and a U.S. Federal Contractor.
