Requisition Number: 218216Cox Communications is looking for a hands-on software engineer to work as part of a cross-functional development team to develop, test, configure, integrate, deploy and support the components of a hotel in-room entertainment (IRE) systemaka Video on Demand (VOD) ensuring solution meets business and customer expectations in addition to various other back office and/or customer facing applications. Understanding of IP video (multicast, unicast, http, progressive, mpeg transport stream), network programming and c/c experience are highly desired. Ideal candidate will be a continuous learner and current on development best practices.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions: - Integrates and unit tests solutions- Ensures that solutions meet requirements outlined in the design documentation- Performs all work to agreed time, cost and quality constraints- Unit tests solutions to ensure they meet quality standards- Creates and provides support handover for implemented solutions within agreed timeframes, using existing standards- Investigates opportunities to use new and emerging technologies- Develop and deploy technologies such as RESTful APIs - Web development, Windows Services, Forms applications, client/server- .NET, javascript, html, css, c/c (c17/20, std library)- Microsoft SQL Server

Qualifications:

Minimum - 5+ years of professional experience in software development- Ability to build and test technical solutions- Demonstrated knowledge of end-to-end development process (i.e., Unit Testing, Data Testing)- Technical aptitude in one or more technology domains (IP networks, wifi, video streaming)- Technical expertise in development languages, toolsets and methodologies- Experience with MS Sql Server and MS Visual Studio- Experience with web development (html, css, javascript)- Excellent communication, presentation and time management skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and able to work as part of cross-functional teams- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, listening, written, and verbal communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization.- Hybrid work model (mix of work from office and work from home)

Preferred - BS/BA degree in Computer Science or Engineering- Experience with network programming- Experience with MPEG transport streams, UDP unicast media delivery, UDP multicast, HTTP protocol, HLS, Progressive - Experience in telecommunications industry desired- Experience in software architecture, design, development and deployment of distributed systemsWho We Are
