Job OverviewTeren is looking for an individual to join our growing team as a Senior Data Engineer. The Senior Data Engineer is a dynamic role, with the opportunity to utilize your technical prowess in a collaborative environment to build truly innovative products and solutions. The Senior Data Engineer has the opportunity to work as part of an exceptional team of talented individuals focused on solving big problems and providing huge value to the industries we serve. You will be instrumental in driving the development and growth of our technology through automation, building AI/ML libraries, and scaling solutions through our kubernetes framework. This role will have continued success by working to meet the current needs of our organization and being part of the team solving additional problems for the clients and the industries we serve.If big data, high performance computing, and working with cutting edge technologies are your thing, Teren is looking for you.

Responsibilities
  • Augment and maintain the Teren enterprise geospatial data pipeline and analytics suite
  • Cross-functional collaboration across and throughout the organization to adjust and verify solution outputs and craft and maintain workflows
  • Adjust systems and workflows to accommodate partner software and hardware changes
  • Document systems workflow and processes

Competitive Candidate Attributes
  • Rich understanding of geospatial data analysis and development
  • Experience with industry solutions, both commercial off-the-shelf (Esri) and with open source technologies (PDAL, GDAL)
  • Ability to craft and maintain complex workflows that utilize various technologies
  • Strong understanding of serialization languages: JSON, XML, Yaml
  • Strong understanding of Python 3 and associated scientific libraries: Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, etc.
  • Solid understanding of Linux systems and fundamentals
  • Solid understanding of API workflow integrations
  • Understanding of C languages
  • Solid foundation in working with databases: Postgres and Redis
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Extra Awesome Qualifications
  • Foundation with workflow automation tools (Argo), containerized workflows (Docker), and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of geospatial technologies and remote sensing
  • Understanding of LiDAR and other remotely sensed data products
