Overview $5000 Sign-on Bonus Primarily r esponsible for lifecycle system engineering development and delivery of USCG shipboard E lectro- O ptical (EO) systems, to include Flight Deck Video Systems (FDVS), Maritime Forward Looking Infrared (MARFLIR), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Cutter Video Recording Systems (CVRS), and related integration with electronic navigation sensors and systems . C oordinate , support, or perform project and technical writing activities related to all aspects of an engineering project. These services support the U.S. Coast Guard's over-arching life-cycle requirement for C5I systems aboard all Coast Guard cutters and boats , to include engineering support laboratories . Responsibilities

  • The candidate shall have , at minimum, ten (10) years of relevant ex perience working with sensitive electronic components and systems ; su pporting DOD/DHS military or Federal, State, or local government applications. S hipboard/maritime experience is preferred.
  • The candidate shall have , at minimum, five (5) years of relevant experience with the design, integration, and installation /maintenance of surveillance video camera systems; su pporting DOD/DHS military or Federal, State, or local government applications. S hipboard/maritime experience is preferred. This experie nce is part of the overall ten (10) years working with electronic systems and components.
  • Knowledge of surveillance video camera technologies to include low-light Charged-Coupled Device (CCD), night-vision infrared (LED enhanced), and thermal; as well as their applications.
  • Applied knowledge of surveillance video camera types, such as fixed cameras, and Pan, Tilt, Zoom (PTZ); as well as application designs to include dome, bullet, and stabilized gimbal configurations.
  • Ability to design and/or interpret the design of integrated camera systems associated with analog, digital, and network type Internet Protocol (IP)-based camera systems, cabling, connections, and matrix switching configurations .
  • Ability to design and/or interpret the design of a camera system that is integrated with other systems or components to include Digital Video Recorders, video distribution systems, Network Video Recorders (NVR) and/or switching systems.
  • Thorough understanding of video camera enclosure design selections in terms of necessary Ingress Protection (IP) ratings based installation environmental conditions.
  • Applied knowledge of Direct Current (DC) power distribution design and integration within a video camera system.
  • U nderstanding of video camera system bonding and grounding requirements necessary to mitigate Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI), to include DC power system grounding.
  • Ability to d evelop and deliver Engineering Change (EC) documentation and activities ( i.e. integration testing) within an established System Engineering or Configuration Management process.
  • Ability to c onduct hardware and software light off, t esting, evaluation, and resolve system issues as required.
  • Strong knowledge of troubleshooting and corrective maintenance involving video surveillance systems.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications to draft reports, emails, presentations , create system architecture and integration diagrams, and possess a thorough knowledge of performing independent research.

  • Associate Degree in the field of Electronics; Technical or Engineering , and/ or completion of USCG or DOD Technical Schools. Substitute for education:
    • Comprehensive knowledge of DOD /DHS military electronic systems, specifications and standards . Demonstrated Expert: Ten (10 ) years of concurrent, relevant experience in engineering, design, maintenanc e and installation of DOD/DHS electronic systems; to include five (5) years of experience in DOD/DHS video surveillance systems .
  • CONUS Travel (less than 10%)
