You will be responsible for helping teams within their cloud journey migrate from Kubernetes and OpenShift to Google Anthos. Communication and training skills are vital to this role. This role will work closely with Vanguard, the Client's Cloud Coaching and Consulting team, and the HCC Container Platform (on-prem container platforms) team. LOCATION: Open to fully remote. Cannot provide sponsorship upon conversion. TEAM STRUCTURE: 3 managers, 20 platform engineers. INTERVIEW PROCESS: - How many rounds? 2 tech/behavioral - Video vs. phone? Primary Responsibilities:

  • Customer service, customer engagement, customer coaching
  • Working with the container platform technologies; Google Anthos, Red Hat OpenShift, and Kubernetes on bare metal servers
  • Work with vendors on high priority issues
  • Define technical infrastructure environment for OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms
  • Define and document standards and guidelines
  • Develop and automate repeatable tasks
  • Consult with development users; determine requirements and recommend solutions
  • Assists in development of systems and procedures affecting OpenShift and Kubernetes, design and maintenance
  • Participate in product evaluations, design review session, data requirement meetings and consulting with application development products
  • Performance and Tuning of infrastructure components
  • Review project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards
  • Document and communicate the status of progress against plans, taking corrective action as necessary
  • Identify, clarify, and resolve project activity issues and risks, escalating them as needed
  • Review technical documentation to verify compliance with client requirements and established architectural standards and guidelines
  • Provide status reports and demonstrations to management
  • Conduct interviews for recruitment of full-time and consulting positions as required
  • Assisting with communication interfaces/integration to associated systems
  • Upholds enterprise policy guidelines and recommends new and improved guidelines
Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, Google Anthos, Red Hat OpenShift, and Kubernetes
  • Ability to create terraform scripts to support Infrastructure as Code
  • Demonstrated skills building services in Kubernetes
  • Ability to integrate components into CI/CD pipeline, specifically Jenkins
  • Ability to work across and collaborate with multiple teams including platform teams and corporate security
  • Ability to listen intently to the needs of the customers moving to cloud
  • Ability to influence customers to utilize modern cloud practices
  • Ability to manage conflicts with customers
  • Ability to influence internal platform and support teams to create cloud native solutions easing the transition of customers to cloud
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload that is often dynamic and changing
  • 3+ years of technology administration supporting internal systems
  • 3+ years of strong Linux background
  • 3+ years of scripting experience such as Shell
  • 1+ years of programming experience such as Python or Java
  • 3+ years of experience working with application support teams
  • 1+ Kubernetes
  • 1+ Docker
  • 1+ GitHub
  • Willingness to participate in on-call support rotation
