HOUSEKEEPER

JOB DESCRIPTION

FUNCTION

The housekeeper is responsible to the Senior Housekeeper to clean and maintain rooms, baths, offices, public areas as assigned and perform preventive duties in cooperation with the Senior Housekeeper, such as beds, windows, venetian blinds.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess the ability and willingness to learn and perform housekeeping duties as described.

DUTIES

1. Mop floors, moving furniture to mop all areas of rooms.

2. Dust furniture.

3. Clean window sills, wash windows, wash baseboards.

4. Empty waste baskets.

5. Scour and polish bathtubs, sinks, mirrors and similar equipment. Replenish soap and paper supplies.

6. Polish brass and chrome. Clean glass panels in doors.

7. Arrange furniture in orderly fashion.

8. Clean utility room and diet kitchen. Keep neat by removing unnecessary items that may accumulate.

9. Use good safety habits to prevent accidents. Attend in-service education programs as scheduled for housekeeping.

10. Be responsible for care and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.

11. Dust and clean dining rooms, living room, reception areas, offices.

12. Wash fingerprints and grime off doors, around elevator, public telephone area, and other public areas.

13. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and transport to dumpster in back parking lot.

14. Perform other related duties as requested by Supervisor of Maintenance/Environmental Services and Administrator.
