Before School Activity Leader WHAT: Do work that matters, have fun while doing it! You will help kids learn and grow in a safe, supportive environment. You'll plan and deliver enriching programs and activities for 1st-5th graders in a small group setting. As a member of our team, you'll better the lives of kids in our community.

WHEN: During the school year, we serve kids before and after school at several sites. Most shifts are Mon-Fri between 6:45a-8:30a (no weekends or holidays!)

WHERE: Sheboygan

HOW MUCH:

  • We're a nonprofit that strives to pay a fair wage. The range for this role is $10-$13/hr, based on experience

FINE PRINT:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Establish a program setting that ensures cleanliness, health and safety
  • Understand and implement our youth development strategy
  • Provide strong guidance and role-modeling to all kids
  • Welcome and register new youth and participate in the Club Orientation process
  • Implement and monitor quality programs and activities that are inclusive and FUN
  • Ensure program content supports goals and organization mission
  • Motivate youth to participate in programming
  • Support youth in meeting targeted program outcomes
  • Make certain programs and activities occur daily as scheduled
  • Take pride in work and appearance, both personal and of the Club and program areas
  • Ensure space, equipment and supplies are cleaned and ready before programs begin, cleaned throughout the day and at the conclusion of each day that everything is organized and well-maintained

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Has a desire to work with kids
  • Energetic and FUN, positive attitude
  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of youth development
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior challenges
  • Excellent customer service
  • Ability to conduct on-the-go projects and activities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Punctual, reliable, displays initiative
  • Experience working with youth, preferably in an organized program setting
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications (will offer training)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

COVID-19 considerations:To keep staff and youth as safe as possible, masks are required for staff and highly encouraged for youth. Staff are health screened prior to starting their shift. We also do our best to maintain distancing and cohort groups.
