As a Manager III, Software Development in S3, you get to lead and develop a team of software development engineers to design, build, test, and maintain secure and scalable products improving automation, scaling operations, and creating memorable external customer experiences.You should be a self-starter with a bias towards independent problem solving. You will be defining the technical vision, influence the product strategy and lead a team of passionate engineers building work with technologies to support large-scale distributed software systems.As a Software Development Manager:· Build and manage a team of Software Engineers. Come build the future with us.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS· 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams· Experience partnering with product OR program management teams· 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers· 3+ years of experience architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems· Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field, such as computer science or engineering· 10+ years experience developing software· 5+ years experience managing and building software development teams· 5+ years experience developing software on Java, Python, C, C· 5+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems· Experience forming teams and recruiting software engineers, developing careersPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS· Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline· 7+ years of software development experience as a manager· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences· Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle· Experience with scrum or kanban methodology for agile software development· Experience designing software architecture for scalability, reliability and performance· Experience building high-volume, highly available systems and operating 24x7 services· Experience with building dynamic web applications and the APIs that power them (JavaScript/Redux, React, NodeJs, and/or Angular)· Experience with relational and NoSQL databases· Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or aboveHere at AWS, we embrace our differences.
