Job Description

The

Network Engineer II is responsible for evaluating, designing, implementing, and maintaining the data networks and technologies that comprise Salud Family Health Center’s network infrastructure including LAN/WAN interfaces, network servers, network security and performance, and all hardware components of the enterprise network infrastructure.

  • Starting wage range is $34.01 to $39.11 per hr.
  • Monday to Friday – 8am to 5pm

Specific Duties:

  • Document all practices and procedures
  • Implement and configure network routers, switches, and wireless access points
  • Identify and report security violations
  • Design networks and upgrades with the Senior Network Engineer including LANs, WANs, WLANs, VLANs, SDWAN, and Internet connections
  • Work with vendors, clients, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing management
  • Use software to monitor network
  • Install and maintain servers as required, including AD, DHCP, and DNS
  • Partnering with and/or overseeing operations with technology vendors on an as-needed basis
  • Works in conjunction with Medical Providers, Medical Assistants, Enrollment Specialists, Customer Service Associate and all other staff to ensure that patients obtain the highest standard of integrated health care
  • Acts as a patient advocate for our vulnerable populations by ensuring that patients are fully informed and comfortable with their visit to Salud
  • Follows procedures for the electronic health records system
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Supervision Received: Supervision is provided by the Vice President of Information Technology.

Supervision Exercised: This job has no formal supervisory responsibilities. Acts as a technical resource for network design, implementation, and management. Is a member of the infrastructure team.

Qualifications

    Education:

    High school diploma or GED, required. Education and/or training sufficient to allow successful completion of essential duties and responsibilities.

    Experience:

    Minimum of five years relevant experience. Health Care Experience is preferred, but not required.

    Licensure, Certificates, and Registrations:

    Valid Colorado Driver’s License required. Reliable transportation to be used for travel is required. Ability to travel to/from organization and community sites in a timely manner. IT Certifications are not required, but are preferred. These include CompTIA Network+, VMWare, and Microsoft Certifications.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • A solid understanding of network concepts, design, and implementation
    • Ability to precisely document practices and procedures
    • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and research and apply new technologies.
    • Ability to read and understand trade and technical publications and websites, and apply skills acquired
    • Possess sensitivity toward the needs of others
    • Must be a self-motivated, pro-active,and independent worker
    • Possess excellent organizational skills
    • Sensitivity to low income and ethnic minority communities is a must
    • Must work well with the patient care team
