Chief Plant Operator - Water

Coleman Engineering is accepting applications for the position of Chief Plant Operator - Water.

The Chief Plant Operator - Water plans, develops, organizes, supervises, directs, and participates in the operation of the water treatment and distribution facility; assists in the review and implementation of water treatment facilities capital projects; and develops, directs, and administers procedures for ensuring regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will:

Understand the operation and maintenance of potable water production wells, booster stations, storage facilities, emergency power systems, and treatment facilities.

Be able to maintain clear and concise records and prepare, comprehend and evaluate a variety of reports and studies and provide recommendations and assess alternatives.

Troubleshoot complex operational and maintenance problems.

Perform a variety of operational tests and calculations and adjust operating equipment and methods to ensure compliance with local, State and Federal requirements.

Create and maintain a respectful and collaborative working environment.

LOCATION

Water treatment facility located in Trinidad, CA.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. College-level course work in water resources and water operations, management and supervision, or related fields is desired.

Experience: Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of water treatment plant facilities and related systems, including at least two (2) years in a lead capacity.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE

A valid California Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record is a condition of initial and continued employment.

A valid California Drinking Water Operator Certification Program T3 Water Treatment Operator certification is a condition of initial and continued employment.

A valid California Water Distribution Operator Certification Program D1 Water Distribution Operator certification is a condition of initial and continued employment.
