From product development to software design to big data and beyond, our people play vital roles in connecting consumers with the products and platforms of tomorrow.Reporting to the VP of Infrastructure and Operations, the IT Director of Cloud and Platform Engineering will oversee multiple operational teams in the devops, cloud engineering and operations space. Dish runs hybrid cloud environments with systems on premise and in multiple public clouds This position will set strategic direction for the department, will maintain appropriate headcount and manage budgets and have responsibility to maintain a stable and reliable environment. The Director will bring strong leadership skills to a team of 50+, but will still be a hands-on working leader. Our ideal candidate will bring excellence in implementing effective governance, delivering enterprise applications initiatives and providing high quality end user support.

Key Qualifications:
  • Cloud technology leadership experience implementing complex solutions with automation, CI/CD and self-healing capabilities
  • Experienced with cloud technologies including platform engineering to drive speed to market with security focus
  • AWS and GCP architecture and service knowledge
  • Strategic thought leader for public/private hybrid cloud operations
  • DevOps experience transforming culture from legacy practices
  • Operations leadership including application support, database administration, software configuration management, middleware application administration, and tools development
  • Metrics-guided approach to drive operational efficiencies
  • ITIL or similar Process knowledge with track record of evaluating and implementing operational best practices
  • Ability to partner with Business teams with the ability to tie IT actions to positively impact business results

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience in CI/CD and application of DevOps mindset and principles (use and architecture)
  • Significant container production experience with Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, or similar) and Docker
  • Experience in systems operations management maintaining operating environments for enterprise applications.
  • Experience architecting and building scalable cloud infrastructure and processes.
  • Expert in Cloud Operations with a proven track record of hiring, coaching, and retaining team members.
  • 10+ years of IT management experience and preferably an extensive amount of that in Cloud Operations and Enterprise SaaS
  • Experience working with large, complex information systems and managing Cloud Operations at scale
  • Extensive experience with Cloud infrastructure design and operation
  • Extensive experience managing a Cloud service including managing cost and defining the roadmap to achieve industry-standard Enterprise SaaS benchmarks/SLA
  • Proven experience in collaborating with cross functional business units
  • Experience managing cloud platform spend through metrics and reporting
  • Experience working with stakeholders to educate them on the impact of cloud configuration decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
