Senior Software Test Engineer GavinHeath is partnering with a client in Aurora, CO looking to add a Senior Software Test Engineer to their team. The role is a direct hire position.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate actively in agile scrum ceremonies including stand-up, planning, demos, and retrospectives
  • During backlog grooming collaborates with the team to define the acceptance test criteria.
  • Work with software developers and project owners to facilitate a clear understanding of acceptance criteria and QA expectations
  • Develop the Test tasks for the user story and monitor progress to plan.
  • Reviewing business requirements and creates detailed test plans and test scripts for both manual and automated testing.
  • Develop test data and SQL queries where required.
  • Execute the test scripts (manual and automated).
  • Capture and document the test results and other test artifacts as required.
  • Monitor issues, problems, and defects discovered during testing.
  • Defect Management-ensure timely logging and retesting of defects.
  • Identify risks and prepare mitigation plans
  • Coordinate with the developers on code moves and deploy the build to Test servers.
  • Work with the Scrum Master to assess project risk and setting priorities, escalate and resolve project issues, ensure that the project is on track with all promised milestones and deliverables, analyze the effectiveness of testing activities, and managing resource utilization.
  • Create a Test Summary document.
  • • Participate in Release/Iteration planning and review all open defects for the Sprint. • Test data and test environment management
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing where required.
  • Support production code moves as needed.
  • Post-release testing after code deployment to Production
  • Contribute to the continued improvement of information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by assisting in the evaluation of organizational outcomes, identifying problems, and evaluating trends.
  • Involved in advising and mentoring fellow team members, helping define best practices based on Agile testing principles, vetting out technologies
  • Ensure that the best practices are employed across the Test team.
  • Gain efficiencies by operating with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Actively participate in exploring key opportunities for next-generation technologies.
  • Carry out automated smoke and regression tests after every update and release of the new software version.
  • Expand automation test libraries using Selenium
  • Reporting testing status to Test Manager, IT Project Managers, and upper management.
  • Develop and maintain test documentation including test cases, test plan, test summary
  • Certify release builds in Test and Production environments
  • Strong management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Perform system testing sessions, test code deployment, user acceptance Testing efforts, and go-live efforts for an array of applications.
  • Conduct peer reviews (automation code and test documents).
  • Troubleshoot and test system defects and performance issues in applications.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • 6+ years of related experience in both manual and automation testing
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum frameworks and Waterfall methodology
  • Experience in manual and automation testing
  • Experience with cloud technology (AWS/Azure)
  • Experience with change and release management
  • Advanced experience with testing automation architectures and tools such as TestNG, Selenium, JMeter, ReadyAPI
  • Experience with CI tools such as Jenkins, understanding of Agile and SDLC, and how Quality Assurance processes fit in
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL, and the ability to do some data testing and analysis is a plus
  • Experience with Python, PHP, JavaScript, SQL, Jira, PyCharm, PyTest, Git/BitBucket, SoapUI, and HTML/CSS, C# or Java
  • Experience with Performance Testing
  • Experience with REST API testing, including Postman
  • Experience with Security Testing
  • Solid understanding of large enterprise application and web browser technology
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Microsoft TFS, Teams
  • Strong AWS and Database Testing skills
  • Experience and knowledge about Microsoft Lifecycle Services and Azure DevOps. • Effective written and verbal communication skills with an attention to details
  • Demonstrate the capability of working independently with minimal guidance.
  • Demonstrate capability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • A solid grasp of organizational policies and processes. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical problem solving and decision-making skills within technical areas with a keen focus on root cause analysis, problem prevention, and system stability.
  • Extremely attentive to details, analytics, and processes
  • A solid understanding of website infrastructure
