JOB SUMMARYCharter's Emerging Technology and Innovation team is looking for an experienced technologist who exhibits enthusiasm, creativity, confidence, and curiosity. The candidate will be tasked with exploring and evaluating new technologies with a focus on leveraging those technologies to provide additional value to Charter and its customers.The candidate should be driven to understand how things work and capable of documenting and presenting that understanding. This role will develop proofs-of-concept and present exploratory findings. The successful candidate will work in a broad range of technology disciplines including embedded systems, software development, architectural design, and implementation. As a member of this group, the candidate will be afforded a great deal of latitude to choose technologies used for prototyping and expected to provide input on methods of evaluation. This role requires the ability to work as part of a small team as well as independently to innovate in emerging technology areas.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESActively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.Work individually to develop solution prototypes and create technology demos.Rapid development of software prototypes in a variety of subject areas.Develop and maintain technical documentation.Participate in technology demo presentations.Collaborate with internal customers, technical and architecture teams to solve complex hardware/software problems. Provide management with system analysis and feedback. Influence system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for enhancements. Maximize the efficiency of the various systems by implementing, monitoring, testing and auditing new programs. Participate in continuous performance improvement sessions to discuss opportunities to improve processes or standards. Analyze and resolve in house application related problems by coordinating with colleagues to diagnose and fix operational issues, as well as consulting, advising and training on specialized features and functions.Perform other duties as requested by manager.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSSkills/Abilities and Knowledge Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishDemonstrate broad knowledge of existing distributed system and Internet application architecturesThorough knowledge of Internet technology fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, TLS, DNS, DHCP)Familiarity with modern architectures (SOA, REST), and communication frameworks (HTTP, XMPP, MQTT)Ability to work independently and ramp up quickly in a fast-paced environmentUnderstanding of software abstraction layer conceptsProficiency developing in C/C / Go, Python, Ruby, Node.jsSolid verbal and written communication skillsAbility to focus on deadlines and deliverablesSelf-starter, self-motivated, driven individualAbility to work well with shifting priorities while maintaining organizationAnalytical and problem solving skillsKeen attention to detailDisplay professional, positive, and approachable attitude/demeanor and discretionStrong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and an understanding of software design patterns and principlesEducationBA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field or equivalent combination of education and experienceRelated Work Experience Number of YearsSystems analysis, or coding, testing and design, 3or experience with software development methodologies, or experience with network systemsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSSkills/Abilities and Knowledge Ability to work with SCM systems such as GitExperience in electrical assembly work and hand solderingHardware debugging with serial, JTAG, SPI, etc.Understanding of challenges operating large-scale distributed systemsExperience working with AWS, OpenStack, or other cloud infrastructure technologiesExperience with infrastructure tools such as Docker, Chef, Puppet, or AnsibleWORKING CONDITIONS Office environment EGN309 286453 286453BR Here, employees don't just have jobs, they build careers.
