Please review the job details below.Maxar is currently seeking a Technical Project Manager to join ou r team in Westminster, CO. Some meetings will be in our Longmont, CO office. Life with Us Your Project: In this role, you will be responsible for managing projects and technical work in the areas of Spacecraft Navigation, Engineering and Calibration for the Maxar earth imaging constellation . You will report to the Director of Space Engineering, Navigation and Calibration to collaborate with senior technical leaders on the team and lead major programs and initiatives to ensure project and development work is completed within schedule and budget . What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):

  • Serve as the department leader for development work being planned and in-progress supporting major Maxar programs and initiatives
  • Lead the project design, schedule management, and coordination with program leadership teams to provide status reporting for projects and initiatives
  • Manage development of new software and services on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) domain as well as projects to enhance current Maxar services for our existing and future earth imaging constellation
  • Collaborate with other teams and the overarching Space Engineering roadmap using an Agile development framework and JIRA Align as the planning tool
  • Participate in enterprise cross-train portfolio coordination meetings (includes external dependencies, risk, impacts)
  • Own the escalation and coordination of remediation of issues blocking development
  • Represent the department for roadmap, work execution and planning of future work with external teams and programs - maintain the department technical roadmap
  • Maintain a future vision of new work through routine coordination with business development teams and senior technical leaders in the department - proposals and new business support
  • Gather technical input from the team to support future business development proposals
Minimum requirements for this position:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and willing and able to obtain U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in p roject m anagement, engineering or related technical field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a project management role
  • Minimum of 2 years focused on directly supporting implementation and project management activities
These skills would be amazing:
  • Certified Project Manager (CPM) or other project management certification
  • Broad understanding of satellite operations with a general understanding of commercial satellite imaging systems, navigation and/or aerospace engineering
  • Ability to organize and communicate highly technical information in a concise and effective manner to stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Ability to collaboratively lead a group of senior aerospace engineers to effectively execute work
  • Knowledge and experience using the Agile framework for software development
  • Knowledge or experience of Aerospace e ngineering or related engineering field
  • Knowledge and understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Knowledge and experience using JIRA Align or other Agile management platform
The compensation range for this position is $79,500 to $132,500 annually, dependent on skills and experience.
