From Spectrum Internet Gig and our path to 10G, to Advanced Home WiFi and Spectrum Mobile, our fast and secure broadband network powers the future.Our Design Technology team helps Charter determine that future by developing high-functioning prototypes, tools, and apps that enable rapid iteration and testing.As a Design Technologist Architect you are a hands-on technical leader and prototyping advocate. You quickly conceptualize ideas and how to best construct them for demonstration and testing. You embrace failure and rapid iteration in the pursuit of a beautiful solution.You will help us identify and prioritize opportunities, find ways to improve the speed and scalability of our prototyping process, further the architecture of prototype infrastructure, and help build high-functioning prototypes.We're looking for diverse candidates whose values align with our team's Core Values.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Work with teams across Charter to identify and prioritize opportunities for Design Technology.• Proactively research and implement new interface development technologies.• Proactively research and implement new prototyping tools.• Develop tools for automating and deploying prototypes and our services.• Identify or develop tools to increase efficiency.• Work closely with the Design Technology and partner teams to refine interface layout and functionality.• Participate in design and wireframe reviews to provide a technical perspective on implementation.• Determine the appropriate type of prototype to meet design, testing, and hand-off requirements.• Design prototype architecture and lead development of intricately complex modules, components, services, and servers used by the prototype.• Advocate and help evolve our in-house design system through usage in prototypes and engagement with the Design Systems team.• Work with our accessibility engineers to ensure code and design meet accessibility requirements. Propose alternate design and development options to better meet those requirements.• Ensure alignment between the design, research, and technical teams we service.• Mentor and guide the work of other design technologists. Facilitate conversations around the structure of prototypes and services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Skills/Abilities and Knowledge • Effective written and spoken English communication skills with all levels of the organization• Ability to articulate complex concepts to technical and non-technical resources.• Ability to deliver against several initiatives simultaneously.• Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities.• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and OO Design.• In-depth understanding of browser rendering.• Solid understanding of UX best practices.• Basic understanding of accessibility development practices.

Preferred Qualifications:• Experience working with interface design tools.• Experience with animation software.

EducationBA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience

Related Work Experience / Number of Years• 8+ years experience working in Web technologies.• 8+ years experience working with client-side web frameworks.• 8+ years experience working with version control systems.• 3-5 years experience building accessible applications with a strong understanding of accessible technology.• 3-5 years experience developing tooling and DevOps infrastructure.• Experience building rich UI based applications.• Experience working alongside design resources and providing a technical perspective about the feasibility of business requirements.

The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
