Highlights:As the Director of Product Design for User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX), you are a hands-on product design leader and client advocate. You possess an in-depth understanding of our clients, their needs and their pain points and validate this information with as much data as possible. You excel at leveraging a research-first approach and you are an expert in facilitating a transparent and collaborative design process that leverages and expands our unique design system. You guide experience projects using an in-depth understanding of UI and UX design industry best practices. You ensure the success of projects by identifying and implementing design standards, including methodology and processes for journey-based designers across the organization. You build and lead a diverse and inclusive team of product designers ensuring they are changing and iterating as a cohesive, flexible unit. You practice empathy, humility and transparency to cultivate an environment where designers are empowered to solve client issues in meaningful ways that directly impact our business. You identify key opportunities, projects and priorities and focus design team efforts where they can be the most impactful for client and team members. You connect internally and externally to build partnerships throughout the organization ensuring the delivery of value to clients, employees and the business. You thrive in an office environment guiding your team and travel as needed to achieve company goals. You report directly to the Senior Director of Experience Design for goals and guidance.

What you will do:
  • Encourage company-wide excellence through active and consistent support of all efforts to simplify and enhance the client experience.
  • Improve the client experience by leading an innovative and collaborative team to produce exceptional digital products.
  • Drive team success by establishing and measuring key point indicators (KPIs) for products and initiatives and performance targets.
  • Work with all levels of leadership to evaluate design tooling solutions, product design best practices and the consistency of alignment to design system guidelines.
  • Create a high performance culture by developing an effective leadership team and assisting them with developing their direct reports.
  • Mentor and guide team members to help them gain confidence and experience with communication, leadership and collaboration skills, enabling growth and advancement in their careers.
  • Ensure the success of the UI and UX portfolio by leading the development of new products, technologies and initiatives while supporting existing technologies and current operational initiatives.
  • Review selections on bids for contracted projects, manage capital budget processes, execute the approved budget plan and provide recommendations to ensure fiscal success.
  • Manage contractors and consultant organizations to ensure the successful delivery of technology projects.
  • Design products for all clients by taking into account diversity, uniqueness and, in some cases, disability.
  • Perform additional duties related to this position as assigned.

Required keys for success:
  • Eight or more years of UX or UI product management experience.
  • History of supervising and motivating others with the ability to make decisions and resolve issues while working under pressure.
  • Experience developing, communicating and implementing strategies and tactics with the ability to manage and deliver against several initiatives simultaneously.
  • Solid prioritization and organizational skills with the ability to analyze and interpret data and synthesize recommendations.
  • Track record of managing and training cross-functional teams.
  • Strong cognitive and communication skills with the ability to think strategically and anticipate future trends, needs and expectations.
  • Solid business acumen and sense of urgency to achieve business results.
  • Demonstrated UX and UI design management skills via resume or portfolio.
  • Proven ability to sketch and generate big-picture ideas for early stage product design work.
  • Understanding of development processes with the ability to design high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Confidence when presenting information with the ability to sell ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Prior experience with research-driven, iterative product design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Effective written and spoken English communication skills with all levels of an organization.

Your education:
  • Bachelor's degree in design, HCI or a related field, or equivalent education, training and experience (required).

The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
