Job Description

As a Enterprise Data CatalogConsultant, you will work closely with many teams across our company on complex, advanced data projects, supporting implementation and oversight of enterprise data engagement and governance goals, standards, practices, processes and change managementfor our clients.

Consider your day-to-day responsibilities in this role:

  • Understand clients’ strategic enterprise data needs.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to establish and align on datagovernancestructures and protocols to support smooth change management for new / improved data standards and processes.
  • Collaborate with business data stewards to advance and optimize the adoption of enterprise data engagement through the execution of use cases, supporting data and metadata standards adoption.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to further data engagement strategies and activities for our client base that promote data literacy and knowledge sharing that breaks down data siloes.
  • Develop and facilitate clients’ business and technical metadata as well as data quality routines and frameworks.
  • Be able to transform an enterprise’s understanding and access to their data, in a technology agnostic way driven by case-driven business requirements.
  • Provide leadership on the design, development and configuration of data catalog resources, data profiling, data lineage, data relationships, and data domains for clients based on business and technical requirements
  • Provide clients support with the management and administration of enterprise data catalog tool(s), user groups, and access roles and permissions

Qualifications

Some of the qualifications and skills we are expecting include the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Two plus years of combined direct enterprise data catalog and general data governance experience required (public sector experience a plus).
  • General data governance examples: (1) facilitating strategic alignment of business data priorities across groups, (2) facilitating the development of data quality standards across groups, (3) facilitating the education and ongoing engagement of data resources and data literacy across groups, (4) providing subject matter expertise with respect to data privacy and security, and/or (5) facilitating framework or methodology for deriving measurable outcomes from data-driven initiatives and data sharing practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in best practice enterprise data management, and data quality principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with data governance and data catalog solutions, such as: Informatica, Collibra, Alation, Erwin
  • Experience with discovery and tagging of personally identified information or otherwise sensitive data
  • Experience with integrating enterprise data catalog systems with other tools and technologies to support sustainable processes, and data governance goals
  • Demonstrated experience in cross collaborating with multiple teams – change management and communications planning and execution expertise is a plus
  • Ability to effectively challenge all levels of an organization and offer value-add solutions to meet data governance objectives. Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and people and relationships management at various organizational levels (e.g. executive leadership, middle management, etc.) is required.
  • Experience with sensitive data and knowledge of HIPAA, FERPA and other federal and state statutes related to data privacy and security is desirable.
  • Collaborative team player who is detailed oriented and focused on solution quality and execution.
  • Comfortable working across a wide range of project sizes including complex projects that cross multiple organizational units or, in some cases, organizations.
