Shipping Clerk (2nd shift)

Do you have previous experience working in a warehouse, probably in a shipping department? If so, we want you to apply for our Shipping Specialist I position! The Shipping Specialist supports the Shipping team through the accurate preparation, verification, and distribution of orders to our vendors. This role is important for ensuring that all our customers receive the right product, on time and in good condition.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with regularly scheduled hours: M-F: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm. Overtime and/or weekend hours may be required.

Hiring pay: Starts at $16.50/hour plus shift differential.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reviews packaged orders for completeness and accuracy, verifying SKUs, counts, weights, and product appearance. Communicates issues of miss-picks; ensures order correction.

Drives team success by working in an efficient and detailed manner, contributing to the completion of individual and team deadlines.

Prepares and includes proper documentation to accompany shipments.

Wraps, packages and labels LTL freight and parcel shipments for safe shipping according to customer requirements, Hazmat regulations and shipping standards.

Uses handheld scanner and computer system to process orders for shipment.

Uses pallet wrapping machine to prepare freight shipments for transport.

Operates pallet jack to transport stored items within the warehouse.

Adheres to safety guidelines and procedures.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED.

Previous work experience required.

Previous shipping experience preferred.

Previous work in distribution/warehouse setting preferred.

General math and ability to use a calculator a must – addition, subtraction, multiplication.

Basic computer knowledge required, including ability to navigate internal and external internet resources.

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SmartSheet a plus.

Attention to detail, mechanically inclined.

Ability to think creatively, be positive and be innovative.

Possess analytical, problem-solving, strategic thought process.

Adapt quickly to the everchanging business requirements.

Ability to cultivate internal relationships.

Ability regularly lift and /or move up to 50lbs.

Ability to stand and walk for the 8-hour shift

Ability to communicate fluently (read, write, and speak) in English required.
