Spruce Confections is a growing local bakery and café that has been rooted in the Boulder community for over 29 years. We proudly hand make all of our products from scratch.

We produce and deliver a wide variety of baked goods and prepared foods for our own cafes, and numerous wholesale accounts, including Whole Foods and Ziggi’s Coffee.

The Bakery Café Co-Manager is responsible for overseeing store operations, employee shifts, store cleanliness, and ensuring team members uphold company policies, standards and customer service.Job Duties/Responsibilities:

- Understand all operational procedures of the shop.

- Schedule employee shifts and manage absences/coverages.

- Responsible for training new hires and employees who need to improve.

- Communicate effectively with staff, HR, and Owner.

- Provides direction and feedback to staff in a timely manner.

- Communicates any important information to HR and/or Owner, including but not limited to: team morale and

performance, retail business, product quality issues, inventory and equipment maintenance needs.

- Able to fill in for any position in the store if needed.

- Maintains organization throughout the facility (includes shed, garage/parking space, patio, walk-in refrigerator, and

freezer).

- Maintains inventory of all necessary supplies and communicates with vendors.

- Ensures cleanliness throughout the store, communicates cleaning related task and objectives with team and identifies

areas for improvement.

- Check out departments (baristas and bakers) at the end of their shift and ensure checklists are correctly and thoroughly

completed.

- Maintains awareness of outgoing special orders.

- Ensures injury reports are completed for any warranted occurrence.

- Maintains an open and consistent line of communication between locations.

- Leads by example within the store in all areas, including care for your teammates, communication, attentions to detail,

customer service, Covid-19 protocols, etc.

- Continues to improve systems, processes, procedures and efficiencies to maximize sales and provide exceptional

customer service.

- Able, willing, and adept at pivoting between a wide range of changing priorities, including public health updates, market

changes, employee call outs, etc.Required Skills/Abilities:

- Ability to work in equal partnership with fellow Co-Manager.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong organizational skills.

- Exceptional time and resource management.

- Attention to detail.

- Basic math and computer skills.Education and Experience:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Proven successful experience as a Store Manager preferred.

- Bakery and café experience preferred.Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to work in hot, hectic environments.

- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, using hands and appliances.Benefits:
