Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensure high availability of conditional access applications in various environments
  • Administer and manage various server hardware, virtualization, and operating systems
  • Manage application environments to minimize outages and service interruptions
  • Work with various engineering teams to deploy new features and upgrades
  • Manage systems monitoring and alerting tools
  • Routinely research, analyze, and troubleshoot complex problems
  • Create and maintain technical documents and procedures
  • Ensure that solutions adhere to defined standards and best practices and/or assist in the development of these standards and best practices

Required Qualifications:
  • MS in Computer Science or a related technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years experience with Docker/Kubernetes Administration
  • 8+ years experience performing Linux system administration (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat preferred) including installation, maintenance, upgrade, configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and resolving operating system issues
  • 6+ years VMware administration experience
  • 5+ years experience with networking, DNS, NFS, backups, monitoring, alerting, logging
  • 3+ years experience scripting experience: Bash, Perl, Python, etc.
  • Strong critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong desire to automate tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to share on-call rotation with team members
  • Self-motivation and ability to work effectively both alone and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience administering Suse Rancher Kubernetes
  • Experience with tools such as ArgoCD, Gitlab, Salt, Helm
  • Experience with build/deploy pipeline management
  • Experience in administration of these technologies:
    • IBM AIX OS and VIOS virtualization
    • Windows/Active Directory
