Director of MAT (Medical Assisted Treatment) Program -Clinical Psychologist

TheDirector of MAT is a Behavioral Health Provider, will serve as the Project Director for the services. This person will have LCSW, LAC, PhD or PsyD in Psychology, or equivalent license. This is an exempt position responsible for providing program management to the MAT services. Approaches his/her tasks in a fashion that supports patients and their families in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change.

  • Starting Annual Salary - $67,000 to$89,700
  • Loan repayment potential - HPSA score 22

Supervision Received:

Works under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Medical Service - Behavioral Health Services

Supervision Exercised:

Behavioral Health Providers, Students (MSW, LPC, Psychology), and Substance Abuse Specialty employees

Specific Duties:

  • Ensures program compliance
  • Works with the Director of Behavioral Health to integrate BH services and BH providers into MAT
  • Works in conjunction with Medical Providers, Dental Providers, Behavioral Health Providers, and all other staff to ensure that patients obtain the highest standard of integrated health care
  • Reviews most up-to-date literature and other resources to ensure the program is functioning to optimal standards of known best practice
  • Acts as a patient advocate for our vulnerable populations by ensuring that patients are fully informed and comfortable with their visit to Salud
  • Creates training for providers and staff about the MAT program, both in-person training and in Bridge, Salud’s online learning system
  • Is external facing with various community partner organizations and stakeholders to ensure appropriate cross-agency collaboration and support for best practices across regions
  • Ensures program compliance, data entry, defines and reviews quality metrics
  • Works with Risk Management Officer to ensure risk is assessed and addressed
  • Works with the Director of Pharmacy Services to ensure proper medication storage
  • Reachesout to Mental Health Centers to arrange a referral for additional treatment, have MOU signed specificallyto MAT program referral
  • Works on training, marketing material to outreach to external partners/ agencies, including health departments, school districts, health,and human service agencies, etc…
  • Provides consultation to physicians and nurses about special-need referrals. Assists with early identification of psychological disorders
  • Provides consultation to Behavioral health providers regarding MAT services and/or SUD services
  • Provides clinical supervision to candidates for licensure in Directors respective MH/SUD discipline
  • Provides clinical supervision to students
  • Observes patients in various situations. Conducts psychological testing (psychologist only) and mental status evaluations, identifies areas of concern, makes independent diagnoses, and initiates mental health care and follow-up
  • Develops treatment plans
  • Writes reports on mental status evaluations, treatment plans, medications prescribed, patient progress, and other issues
  • Screens and documents patient use of prescribed medications and adherence to medical advice
  • Follows procedures for the electronic health records system
  • Plans and implements quality improvement programs to support department goals and meet accreditation requirements

Qualifications

Education:

  • Doctorate degree in clinical psychology, Master in Social Work, or other equivalent degrees

Experience:

  • Minimum two years of clinical experience in the direct evaluation and treatment of patients with mental disorders, under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional

Other Requirements:

  • State license in psychology, LCSW, LAC, or equivalent license

Performance Requirements:

Knowledge:

  1. Knowledge of MAT (Medical Assisted Treatment)
  2. Knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders. Advanced study of mental health assessment practices, regulations, and laws relating to clinical psychology practice. Understanding of principles of legal documentation and medical records release of information
  3. Knowledge of psychological test administration, scoring, and interpretation
  4. Knowledge of psychotropic medications and treatment uses
  5. Knowledge of community mental health service delivery systems and other resources

Skills:

  1. Skill in triage, mental health diagnostics, and treatment
  2. Skill in psychological and behavioral intervention
  3. Skill in working with diverse patients

Abilities:

  1. Ability to analyze patient data and apply psychologically relevant methodologies and technique
  2. Ability to work sensitively with a variety of personalities
  3. Ability to work with research and testing data to develop diagnoses
  4. Must work well with the other patient care team members

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment, particularly computer hardware and software
