Four Points Lodge, a unique mountain retreat restaurant nestled 9,716 feet above sea level is looking for an Assistant Location Manager for their upcoming winter season. Previous experience includes one (1) year of supervisory experience in food and beverage with a thorough understanding of quick service restaurants and Microsoft Office proficiency. Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:

  • Assist the Location Manager to oversee all phases of restaurant and building operations, ensuring all facilities and equipment are in proper working order
  • Closely monitor opening and closing procedures for the facility and maintain impeccable cleanliness standards
  • Provide support in all staffing/scheduling requirements for Four Points; execute continued training of service standards for staff
  • Deliver daily shift meetings and strategies to provide communication and promote staff morale
  • Assist the manager on employee or HR issues, for example attendance records, for front of house, culinary, cleaning staff; working closely with the Four Points Chef
  • Create weekly labor/revenue forecasts and manage all staff payroll procedures and timekeeping
  • Ensure accuracy of staff banks, audit all cashier open and close procedures, follow all audit and money-handling procedures during shifts worked
  • Observe and report beverage levels and inform Manager regarding ordering priorities, assist with Inventory of all on-site products in an accurate and timely manner
  • Closely administer and monitor all theft prevention (shrinkage) procedures
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor during shifts
  • Participate in food safety audits weekly and ensure that temperature checks are completed daily.
  • Ensure understanding and compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties, as assigned

Minimum skills, experience, and education required for this job:

  • High School diploma or GED; A formal college education in hospitality field is a plus
  • Must have computer literacy including MS Office proficiency and POS system competency
  • This person should have food and beverage experience with strong interpersonal skills
  • Thorough understanding of quick service restaurant operations, wine and beverage service, and fine dining service standards, preferred and supervisory skills a plus
  • 1 years supervisory experience in hospitality management with emphasis on food and beverage, preferred
  • Problem solve in a highly effective manner and maintain positive relationships with guests and staff, including management, subordinates and co-workers
  • Be a consistent role model for company’s Service Excellence standards

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Lift a minimum of 35 lbs. (i.e. cases of soda syrup/beverages)
  • Communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal
  • Safely operate a snowmobile; must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must ski or ride at an intermediate level; this position skis or snowboards to work
  • The position works in all areas of the building, office, indoors and outdoors with long periods of standing, walking and occasional lifting

  • This is a salaried exempt position and is not subject to overtime pay
  • Position is required to work weekends, and holidays, as needed

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat area base salary pay range: $40,00 - $54,000 per year
