Responsible for development of daily specials, quality control of food preparation, delegation and follow-up on work duties of kitchen staff
Research, develop, modify and test recipes
Operate computer system, purchasing guides, receipt log, chef’s daily log and notes
Receive food and properly store in correct and allotted areas
Ensure compliance with established health and safety procedures
Assist in planning and maintaining appropriate quality and production control systems
Supervise the cleaning and organizing of all storage areas
Assist Executive Chef with training programs for kitchen staff
Assist Executive Chef with food purchasing and menu costing, inventory control and reporting
Meet and exceed all budgetary goals in regards to Cost of Goods and Labor expense
Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow the Resort Etiquette while interacting with the guest, and respond all guests in a courteous and efficient manner
Assist Executive Chef in the supervision of all kitchen staff
Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
Other duties, as assigned Minimum skills, experience, and education required for this job:
Two years’ experience as sous chef or chef or kitchen manager required
Work all stations in kitchen
Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s Service Excellence standards Physical Requirements:
Must a minimum of 18 years of age
Stand for long periods of time and lift and carry 25-50 lbs.

This is an hourly non-exempt position and is subject to overtime pay
This position will work weekends, evenings and holidays as scheduled

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Steamboat area base hourly pay range: $16.00 - $26.00 per hour
