Parking Supervisor - Winter Seasonal - Full Time

- Interview, hire, train, schedule, and provide leadership for a staff of 10 parking employees
- Provide traffic control of vehicles entering and leaving parking lots, ensuring safe, steady flow, and pedestrian safety
- Provide outstanding Service Excellence to our guests. (resort information, directions, etc.)
- Providing clean, safe transportation of our guests to the ski area from several established pick up locations around the resort
- Scheduling and staffing lots appropriately to maintain parking and drop off efficiencies to maximize revenue potential
- Provide snow removal and ice build-up prevention around in and around parking lots
- Assist Base Area Services/Security/Facilities with other projects as assigned
- Responsible for dealing with approximately 2000 cars daily and 100,000 cars seasonally
- Meet company and DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements
- One-year supervision of similar staff, and or similar parking related experience
- Ensure understanding and compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
- Must interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company’s Service Excellence standards
- Lead by example, and to provide positive, constructive attitude and work cooperatively within the transportation and security departments
- Must communicate both verbally and non-verbally in a positive, guest friendly manner
- Expected to report to work timely at 6:00 AM, dressed and prepared for your daily assignment.
- Operating a vehicle is an essential function of this position and will require the successful applicant to meet the minimum requirements of the Alterra Driver’s Standards Policy that includes possessing a valid Driver's License and meeting insurability standards
- Problem-solve in a highly effective manner and maintain positive relationships with guests and staff, including management, and co-workers in a fast-paced working environment.
- Must bend and lift 50 lbs. (sign bases, ice melt bags, cones, barricades)
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Work complete shift outdoors, often in extreme weather conditions
- Maintain a professional well-groomed appearance.
- Must remain standing for extended periods of time in one outdoor location, often in extreme weather condition
- Position requires working weekends and holidays as needed
- This is an hourly non-exempt position and is subject to overtime pay
- Pursuant to county and/or state orders and company policies, every employee is required to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms, practice social distancing, wash hands frequently, wear a mask per current guidelines, self-report and call in immediately and stay home if sick and assist with sanitizing and disinfecting work areas. Employees must follow all resort mitigation plans and protocols, which can be found posted on resort buildings and on Beekeeper
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Steamboat area base hourly pay range: $16.00 - $26.00 per hour
