Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:
To teach skiing or snowboarding with safety and welfare of students being of primary importance
Safekeeping and return of proper equipment with children at end of lesson
Safe receipt and drop off of children at the end of lesson
Recording of tickets and hours at the end of each day
Attendance at required orientation and training sessions
Knowledge of all posted information and that which is contained in the instructor manual
Care and safekeeping of company-owned uniform
Proper completion of incident reports in accordance with departmental and company manuals
Attendance at designated meeting times on days scheduled to work
Performance of various activities as required by SnowSports School and/or ski company management
Provide guest with general company information
Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
Other duties, as assigned

Minimum skills, experience, and education required for this job:
Previous instruction, teaching or coaching experience of any sport preferred
Must provide a safe and fun, learning environment
Must maintain a neat appearance in conformance with company standards
Adhere to all safety policies
Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s Service Excellence standards

Physical Requirements:
Must be a minimum 18 years of age
Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds
Work outdoors for extended periods; sometimes in inclement weather conditions
Assist in lifting students to an upright position from ground
Teach and hear clearly
Clearly communicate verbally in the English language

Miscellaneous information:
Position requires working weekends and holidays as needed

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat area base hourly pay range:$15.00 - $34.00 per hour
