Caregiver / Attendant / Home Aide

Consider this ability to follow instructions as 1st-Steps to an interview and maybe on-the-spot hiring!

Douglas will set up an interview time and what steps must precede if I employ you. For instance, if you think you are right for the job you must bring Passport or a combination of Real ID/Real Social Security Card and a Voided Check or printed direct deposit statement from your bank. This job needs to be filled ASAP.

I am seeking 2 OR 3 home aides (caregivers)for my needs at home and around town.

Pay Rates start at $19/hr and may go up to $22 per hour after 4 months.

Home Aides work 7 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Shift Days are chosen by Home Aide for which days but each shift is 9 AM - 4 PM.

Bio: Douglas is a gentleman born in 1969. His friends and family know him to be kind-hearted, joyful, highly intelligent, and understanding. Formerly, he was a Physics Lecturer and Experimental Physics Laboratory Manager.

I live near University Hospital. I have physical and cognitive disabilities. Partial Paralysis in legs means I cannot walk even one step; but with proper supports I can stand. My hands and arms were destroyed by Moderna Vaccine. I can barely lift my hands above my head, I cannot grasp well most things. This all makes me a partial quadriplegic, and quite blessed for what I can do.

Colorado Medicaid provides funds through the CDASS program which allows me to hire home care aides, set their schedule, their duties, and their wages.

CDASS is an acronym for Consumer Directed Attendant Support Services.

A company named Public Partnerships Inc manages hiring, payroll, and the like.

Home Aide must own vehicle in good standing with insurance and registration and be able and willing to take me places and do shopping. I have a manual wheelchair which becomes quite portable.

Home Aides must successfully pass a background check (a little room for discussion.) Please Note: License Revocation from a Nursing Board means you may not work for CDASS Clients.

Home Aides must have valid Driver's License, Social Security Card, and Bank for Direct Deposit. (All are needed for hiring.)

I do have an extra furnished bedroom and can discuss live-in home-aides but only after 6 months of working for me (Life Experience has taught me much)

Douglas' disabilities are numerous. It may be uncouth, but his home-aides' disabilities cannot conflict with Douglas' disabilities. Yes! People have fooled me. In 2021 I hired someone and in the following weeks they told me their hands had no strength, could not lift more than 8 pounds, had bad hearing, and were demonstrable that they could not get up from the floor. I simply ask for integrity.
