job summary:We are looking for a detail-oriented individual, who is knowledgeable in CCMS and DITA, to join our team as a technical editor. The responsibilities of the technical editor include reviewing the work of the technical writers, subject matter experts, and working to complement other technical editors.To be a successful technical editor, you should have an understanding of the types of documentation we produce and apply our editorial guidelines. Ultimately, a top-notch technical editor has excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and page composition skills. Types of technical documentation include: data sheets, user guides, and application notes.Technical Editor Responsibilities:

  • Working with subject matter experts to ensure document accuracy.
  • Reviewing written technical documents for clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, content, and style.
  • Making any necessary corrections to technical documents.
  • Giving feedback and advice to technical writers.
  • Ensuring that all written content meets our company's standards.
  • Developing, communicating, and adhering company's policies and associated processes for technical documentation including workflow, word usage and voice/tone.
  • Conducting quality assurance on documentation prior to release to company's customers.
Technical Editor Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, applied science, mathematics, engineering, or another related field.
  • Experience with CCMS and use of DITA/XML, including DITA architecture. Knowledge of Ixiasoft is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a technical writer and in working with style and brand guides.
  • Experience with desktop publishing
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • strong writing, editing, proofreading, and page composition skills
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and handle pressure.

  • Experience level: Experienced
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Education: Bachelors (required)

  • Engineering (5 years of experience is preferred)
