GENERAL FUNCTION

  • This position manages the pre charge-off collection effectiveness and performance for all markets managed by MMFS. This person will be responsible for the effectiveness of 3rd party agency collection work supporting the retail stores. It is the managers responsibility to ensure that the agencies we partner with provide compliant and effective collection practices that execute a strategy to meet or exceed our business plan and within the budget allocated.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the reporting and daily assignments of all assigned pre charge off accounts.
  • Vendor management oversite for 3rd party collection agencies assigned.
  • Assist in automating manual labor-intensive processes.
  • Monitor agency performance and adherence to Strategy.
  • Based on performance work with the vendor and Risk to improve strategy.
  • Lead the champion and challenger approach to testing.
  • Monitor and track all KPI’s to ensure agencies are meeting targets and are within budget.
  • Create presentations on portfolio quality to Senior Management.
  • Assist in maintaining portfolio quality (past dues and charge offs).
  • Participate in various administrative tasks (scorecard validation, regulatory training, etc.).
  • Lead and participate in business unit review and sponsored events.
  • Complete projects for management on an as-needed basis.
  • Train and develop the team and assist with agency training.
  • Assist in vendor management due diligence and onboarding efforts.
  • Participate and lead collection store-based collection activities and strategy development.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Money Mart, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of banking/consumer finance & collections/recovery experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
  • Experience with budgeting and strategic planning.
  • Experience with Microsoft office Products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Superior communication and organizational skills, and a positive and professional demeanor towards debt collection.
  • Able to multitask, meet deadlines, think quickly and be persuasive under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and lead a team tomeet and exceed goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and manage performance an agency team to continuously drive improvement in collection and recovery results.
  • Must be self-motivated, demonstrate good organization skills, and work effectively with little or no supervision.
