Job Description

Summary

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining production machinery following proper manufacturing practices and procedures to maintain optimal efficiency. Efficient in operating aerosol can loader and packaging of the product.

Essential Duties

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the production machinery, including:

  • Setting up a box coder and label tape machine.
  • Ability to checkboxes compatibility and skid packaging.
  • Arranging/rearranging aerosol can product boxes on skid packaging.
  • Ability to follow written instructions on job tickets and perform quality checks.

Reviews each production line job run for maximum output while maintaining efficiency levels. Checks for defective or damaged aerosol products. Conducts various quality control checks to ensure a quality product. Reviews and checks periodically the operational function of the aerosol can holder lines ensuring products are running at efficient standards. Verify and inspect case count and proper case packaging. Eliminates spoilage of products. Performs minor maintenance activities. Maintain a clean, safe work area by following proper housekeeping procedures before and after every shift. Dependent upon schedule, ensure aerosol lines and all packaging lines are set up for the next day’s production run. If assigned handles hazard waste per written procedures. As directed, utilizes all safety equipment furnished by the company. Participate in all training programs as required. To know and be familiar with procedures furnished on the handling of hazardous chemicals used in the production area. Follow documented procedures and practices that will contribute to an efficient, productive, and profitable operation. Follow and support all company policies and procedures, with special attention to attendance and all quality/safety programs. To actively pursue and advise upper management of any cost-saving ideas or improvements. To advise and report to upper management or human resources any safety equipment malfunctions, workplace hazards, safety violations, etc. Act under all company policies and procedures. Follows the 80/20 philosophy in prioritizing daily tasks and serves as a contributing member of the Operations team. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be capable of meeting standard manufacturing, office, and laboratory demands of either data entry, sitting, standing, squatting, etc.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT / PROCESS / PRODUCT / ETC. Must accept responsibility for the proper use of equipment, processes, and products made available by the company.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be capable of working in a standard office/laboratory environment. Must be capable of working for long periods in a manufacturing environment, which may require exposure to heat, cold, machinery, and controlled chemicals. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Responsible for workspace and any assigned company property, equipment, or materials.

SAFETY Must be capable of and willing to accept all work rules, safety, and environmental instructions, policies, and procedures, as it applies to the job. Might work with chemicals, some might be hazardous. Follow all safety precautions and methods.

Qualifications

Education/Skills/Experience Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related ex-perience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer proficiency within Windows based environment. Experienced in Microsoft Of-fice Suite software (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook) Ability to compute basic math to perform the role. Possess basic mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot machines and perform minor repairs when needed.
