Job Description

SUMMARY:

This position plans, organizes, assigns, and directs all Customer Service, Planning, and Purchasing Department operations. The Customer Service, Planning, and Purchasing Manager supervises and coordinates the activities by providing a communication link between Sales, Production, the Customers, and other internal departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Develops on-going relationships with internal and external customers to make label ordering a seamless operation.

· Trains personnel on ERP and other integrated computer systems.

· Problem solves issues as necessary.

· Ensures compliance to work instructions and accounting/credit procedures. Implements changes where appropriate.

· Recommends policy changes to improve customer service, quality, and/or reduce costs.

· Coordinates the communication with customers, customer service personnel, and production.

· Ensures adherence to established price, terms and conditions, noting any deviations, and notifies customers of any changes.

· Trains and manages performance process for all employees within the department.

· Determines work schedules and expedites workflow.

· Supervise Inventory Control processes including cycle counts, evaluation of slow moving/obsolete materials, and prescribed full inventory reviews.

· Assists with sales presentations and customer visits.

· Supports and assists in workload completion of planning and purchasing tasks like creating estimates, building templates, controlling production schedules, and material requirements ensuring a controlled flow of materials to meet production requirements and deadlines.

· Verifies progress of jobs and informs supervisor concerning any variations.

· Works as a liaison between Customer Service and Production on all expedite requests.

· Supports and assists in workload completion of account representative tasks like receiving and processes change orders, requesting new quotations, contract review of new orders, and entering order details in ERP.

· Champion projects to improve plant profitability through scrap reduction, process efficiency and quality improvement.

· Work with plant personnel on improving/reducing operations issues affecting manufacturing, finishing and warehousing. Coordinate meetings, action plans, set milestones to achieve improvements.

· Maintain established procedures for vendor/customer qualifications and inspection.

· Coordinates with Quality for compliance to ROHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals and CMA as well as any other compliance request.

· Work with Quality and Sales to complete compliance surveys per customer requests.

· Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.

· Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.

· Follows all department work instructions.

· Follows prescribed safety rules and fosters an environment where employee safety is a top priority.

· Is an active member of the 80-20 team and employs the ITW tool-box to run and improve operations.

· Leads the diversity/inclusion effort where managers and supervisors build teams with diverse talents and backgrounds by creating an environment whereby all employees feel welcome.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Required and responsible for employee safety, attending safety training, complying with all company safety and work policies and reporting all accidents/injuries immediately to their Manager and HR Department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of non-supervisory personnel. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assisting, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

The minimum education required for this position is a Bachelor’s Degree; 5-10 years of experience in printing or related activities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior customer service management experience and technical printing knowledge is helpful.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints; make effective and persuasive presentations on company products and capabilities or complex topics to a variety of audiences; effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to comprehend and apply the principles of advanced mathematics and statistical theory. Ability to work with complex mathematical and statistical concepts such as probability and statistical interference, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions. Knowledge of costing and production methods in a manufacturing environment.

REASONING ABILITY

This position requires an ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

This position may require a driver’s license.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Computer skills to include experience working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, any Web Browser, ERP systems, and Access system.
