Job Description

As a Digital Solution Architect, you will be responsible to develop practical and workable digital solutions for our internal business and technical teams. You’ll analyze and evaluate business systems and user needs to craft solutions that are scalable and adaptable and work collaboratively with the User Experience and Design, eCommerce, Growth, and Digital Technology teams. You’ll provide detailed documentation and description of user needs, workflows, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify complex systems and applications. The Digital Solution Architect will work closely with our business users and technical team, acting as the domain and subject matter expert. Experience working with an enterprise eCommerce platform, microservices-based architecture, and content management systems is very much desired.

This position reports to the Director of Strategy & Architecture and will be a member of the strategy and architecture group. This is a full-time, hybrid in-office position located in Boise, ID which will require you to work three days in-office when we can safely return.

What you’ll do:

  • Analyze business requirements, process and apply solutions in line with business requirements and needs
  • Provide technical impact analysis on current digital platform and evaluate new platforms for business growth
  • Represent and communicate technical requirements and trade-offs in a business environment to facilitate effective decision making
  • Build diagrams and workflows to demonstrate steps and describe logical operational steps of the system
  • Ability to understand how business needs will impact current supported applications and new systems
  • Collaborate with technical leads, developers, UI & UX leads, QA, product, and project managers to craft solutions that are scalable and adaptable per business needs
  • Create accurate work estimates and design solutions for execution
  • Proven ability to design, analyze and architect innovative and successful applications/systems
  • Ability to work on complex projects independently and with a team during multiple phases of a project
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert who acts as a “consultant” on complex projects/initiatives

What you bring to the table:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Minimum 5 + years of experience as an Architect designing and architecting eCommerce platforms
  • Experience working within the retail and eCommerce industry is desirable
  • Experience working on eCommerce platforms is a must - SAP Commerce/Commerce Tools
  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server/MySQL/Oracle Database
  • Strong knowledge of Microservices, API and Headless Architecture
  • Experience working with and integrating enterprise system through API platforms
  • Strong experience in designing and building workflow solutions in MS Visio and other design tools
  • Experience working with and coaching Agile/Scrum Teams
  • Experience with JIRA (Issue Tracking) and Confluence (Requirements/Collaboration tool)
