Job Description: Responsibilities:
  • Managing IP/MPLS network to support voice, data, and video traffic with IP Telephony and Products over the VMware cloud.
  • Support and troubleshoot a mix of networking technologies including MPLS, VRF and BGP working within an ISP / Telecoms service provider environment.
  • Implementation of peering IP networks using BGP and MPLS, interior routing protocols.
  • Work closely with Tier1 and Field Technicians to provide 2nd line troubleshooting in support of the customer on network faults and developing product turn-up processes.
  • Ensure minimal downtime/outage with quick workarounds, troubleshooting, and correcting fault conditions.
  • Respond to support calls and escalations of customer issues on a 24/7 basis as required.
  • Script programs to automate configuration/provisioning of services.
  • Routines health tests that run diagnostic scans and report/notify of system alarms.
  • Good understanding of firewalls in routed and multiple context mode.
  • Experience with Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu), Windows operating systems and containers is highly desired.
  • Implement Layer 3, 4 and 7 Firewall solutions within the Datacenter network.
Must have skills:
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) R&S, Data Center or equivalent experience with certification completion in progress.
  • 5+ years of hand-on experience in Routing and Switching protocols like BGP and Data Center devices like Nexus 7k/9k.
  • Expert knowledge in MPLS technologies in a large-scale Service Provider and/or core IP network environment.
  • Working knowledge of features and technologies related to Cisco FirePower/ASA or any equivalent Firewall vendor is a must.
  • Good understanding of Cisco Unified Communication and Collaboration solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft servers and applications including Windows Server, DHCP, DNS, IIS, Active Directory, and ADFS.
  • Basic scripting knowledge or software development experience is a plus.
  • Strong written / verbal communication.
Nice to have:
  • Knowledge and/or certifications including but not limited to ITIL, VMWare, Cisco IOS & QoS.
  • Experience with general IT concepts beyond primary discipline.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work-related experience.
