Job Description - NOC Analyst Global NOC Analyst Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform proactive and reactive network/infrastructure monitoring and health checks to minimize service disruptions and impact to end users
- Serve as primary contact in identifying issues, troubleshooting/correlating issues, assessing impact and coordinating resolution
- Engage teams for troubleshooting, drive efficient resolution of issues
- Document all activities in ticketing system and shift turnover logs
- Develop and maintain documentation that provides for efficient NOC operations (including maintaining inventory of sites, contacts, infrastructure and processes)
- Continued development of knowledge and skills in network and system administration
- Must have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and isolate problems between network, server, and applications
- Multi-tasking skills are essential. Ability to manage multiple problems and calls with minimal mistakes, ensuring proper priorities are maintained through resolution
- 3 or more years related experience
- Knowledge and experience with monitoring tools (Solarwinds Orion or Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM) a plus)
- Technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills a must. Knowledge and experience with a variety of operating systems, hardware, applications and tools
- Knowledge of the OSI model and experience with Cisco networking technologies (CCNA, other Cisco certifications a plus)
- This position requires communications to be drafted and sent to large audiences, professional written and verbal skills a must have
- Good working knowledge of all aspects of Microsoft Operating systems and related products using the Microsoft Windows platform (MCSE certification a plus)
- Experience with virtualization (VMware) and Citrix suite of products
- Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, WINS, DHCP, Server 2012/2016 and troubleshooting tools including performance monitoring
- PowerShell knowledge a plus
- Willingness to work any 24x7/365 shift on a rotating schedule, and must be flexible to cover other shifts as needed for proper NOC coverage (including weekends and holidays)
- Capability to work from home (Requires internet connection).
- Outstanding communication/interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of an organization to resolve issues
- Ability to manage stress and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Must work well in a team environment and assist team members based on fluctuating workload
- Actively seeks out tasks that help develop skills, knowledge, and maturity of NOC operations
- Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
- Experience in a NOC or IT operations environment
- Ability to translate technical information into business language
- Experience managing technical bridge calls for outages and major issues
- Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server and IIS a plus
- Working knowledge of Exchange environments
- Must have strong communication skills, good interpersonal skills, ability to work within a large organization and possess excellent time management skills
