We investigate, select, develop, and integrate technologies and solutions that meet the needs of the company for short, medium and long term initiatives. This includes the delivery of the technology plan and future architecture for Voice, Video, Data, Optical, Commercial, Cloud, CPE, Network and Access.

JOB SUMMARYA true Infrastructure and Cloud Architect as part of the Advanced Engineering (AE) team within Charter.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES As an Architect for third-party Cloud (AWS, Azure and etc.) at Charter, you will be responsible for designing scalable, resilient, and flexible architectures to accelerate the adoption of new services. You will partner with different teams and business units to determine the placement and migration of application within on-premise cloud and third-party cloud. As a trusted liaison, Third Party Cloud Architect will guide other teams to understand and implement best practices.Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problemsStrong knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCPStrong knowledge of design of third party cloud providers and their limitationsStrong experience in designing applications in third party cloudsStrong experience with CI/CD practicesStrong knowledge of DevOps technologiesArchitect and influence customer applications to be cloud optimizedDefine and develop the tools to aid internal customers in the appropriate use of resources in the cloud and making sure the structure is operating at full efficiency.Experience with designing and building applications using AWS services (such as EC2, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, EKS, ECS, etc)5+ years of enterprise software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in at least one programming language (Java, JavaScript, C/C, C#, Swift, Node.js, Python, Go, or Ruby)Identify the customer requirements, analyze the alternatives, and conduct product recommendations related to the platform, software, and network configurationsMentors and guides the work of senior technical staff.Reviews work plans and designs and advises on improvements.Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable. Knows, understands and follows company policy. Performs other duties as requested by manager

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSSkills/Abilities and Knowledge • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner• Expert level Cloud architectural design and hands-on engineering experience• Expert level knowledge of and experience with Virtualization Networking, and Linux• Experience with strategic architecture and roadmap development • Overall familiarity with hardware infrastructure with a specific focus on storage platforms and technologies. This includes sizing, design, deployment, configuration and support for storage deployed for the purpose of hosting large-scale virtual environments.• Cloud/Virtualization (Amazon AWX, Azure, VMWare, OpenStack)• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer Professional Certification (or equivalent)

EducationBachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience. Master's degree preferred
