Basic Cost Analyst to work in our

Dahlgren, VA office.

Job Description: ECS seeks qualified candidates to support Department of Defense Cost Analysis in on-site working environments. The chosen candidate will work closely with team members and/or supervisors on assigned projects and activities with emphasis on thoroughness, technical accuracy, and timeliness of products. Employee focuses on improving detailed understanding of the organization and mastering skills required for assigned tasks. You also will be asked to:
  • Prepare and provide Analyses of Alternatives, Business Case Analyses, and mid-term and far-term architecture planning studies
  • Analyze Contract Performance Reports (CPRs) and Cost and Software Data Reports (CSDRs) formerly CCDRs and incorporate data into cost estimates
  • Develop Cost Models and articulate results both in written form and verbally
  • Conduct Cost Research Studies
  • Conduct budget analysis and budget formulation.

Required Skills:
  • BA/BS Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Finance or related field.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance.
  • 0 - 4 years' experience.
  • Experience in Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Experience in Cost Estimation to Include:
  • Ability to Analyze Contract Performance Reports (CPRs) and Cost and Software Data Reports (CSDRs) formerly CCDRs and incorporate data into cost estimates
  • Developing Cost Models
  • Knowledge of model tool and databases used to develop cost estimates
  • Cost Research Studies
  • Experience/knowledge in Budget Analysis and Budget Formulation
  • Knowledge of DoD and/or NASA process for preparing life cycle cost estimates.
  • Knowledge of OSD CAIG roles, procedures & expectations.
  • Experience with hardware & software cost methodologies & estimates for various missile, radar & communication systems
  • Excellent writing, editing and training skills.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency

Desired Skills:
  • MS Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Finance or related field.
