We are seeking a

Senior Infrastructure Linux Engineer for a Healthcare IT Solutions Infrastructure Team, whose primary function will be to maintain a medium-sized RedHat Enterprise Linux environment and implement advanced automation to ensure the Linux environment is stable from both OS and security perspectives. In addition to RHEL administration, the role requires substantial experience in administering and maintaining a Splunk environment that is geographically distributed across multiple locations. The position will join an existing team of Linux administrators and will require on-call rotation when necessary.

Responsibilities:
  • Thought leader across multiple teams and technologies to drive change to move towards and Infrastructure as Code approach.
  • Design, installation, maintenance, configuration and hardening of RHEL (Linux) Infrastructure.
  • Implement security best practices for Linux servers.
  • Proactively detect and resolve risks and performance issues to prevent service disruptions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of RedHat Satellite 6 to manage a large RHEL environment.
  • Administer and maintain geographically distributed clustered Splunk enterprise instance.
  • Provide in-depth technical guidance to Splunk users, provide fixes and improvement guidelines. Analyze complex user requirements and provide solutions.
  • Utilize automation to reduce operational workload to support teams.
  • Build out additional automation which includes Windows/Linux OS platforms, Storage platforms and DB platforms.
  • Fully automated configuration management using Ansible or similar tools.
  • Operational support of other core infrastructure services which includes server, storage and network.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a senior role in a large RedHat Enterprise Linux environment.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience working within a Clustered Splunk Enterprise, Administering and Managing the platform. This includes management and configuration of Splunk Forwarders on servers.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience with container workloads either deployed on Kubernetes or Docker standalone. This requires fundamental knowledge of image management, container functions, and registry operations related to the Docker client.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Social Science, Education, Business, Health Care or related field and Minimum three (3) years working in IT or operations. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three (3) years of experience writing documentation or standard operating procedures related to system administration.
  • Two (2) years of experience with open-source technologies such as Grafana, Prometheus, Mongo, Postgres.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Ansible, automating infrastructure components: i.e., servers, VMs, and networks.
  • One (1) year of experience using NGINX and Network Policies in Kubernetes.
  • One (1) year working with ServiceNow for managing incidents and service requests.
